Breed: Golden Retriever x Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 11 years

Kids: Yes, older
Drum roll please!! Introducing Beethoven the 11 year old love bug. Personality plus. Yes i know, I’ve got the most beautiful eyes that will melt your heart forever. I am otherwise fondly knick-named Mr. Bee. Through no fault of my own I find myself in foster care, along with my sister Anna. I would be suitable in just about any home environment. I would love a fenced yard, but a home that can keep me contained on a leash is ok.
I have been in care approximately 3 weeks and am on my 2nd foster home. My foster mom says I am the sweetest dog ever. My favorite thing to do is curl up and cuddle with you. I live in a house with adults and teenagers and love everyone. I am very motivated when I see a treat and sit well. I listen pretty good to stay and wait to go outside after foster mom goes first. I do love to follow my people. I came in to foster care with my sister Anna and we are a bonded pair.
I seem to do pretty well with the other dogs that live here, but enjoy Anna the most. Slow introductions would be necessary if there is any other dog in the household. I am trying hard to learn how to walk on a leash. It is a work in progress as I don't really know much about it yet. I am crate trained and do very well, but I now sleep in a dog bed at night (unless you let me on the couch). I really love snuggling.
If foster mom doesn't open the outside gate quick enough then I will pee on the deck. I do listen well when called. But of course those pesky squirrels get a run from me, so I don't think I'd be suited for a house with cats. I would love to be your best friend if you can offer me a forever home, ideally with my sister Anna!
Everyone says I am just the best boy and would love to have me be theirs, but because I have a sister, it is super hard to find me a home. Please consider giving us our retirement home in our golden years!
I am up to date on my DHPP and bordetella vaccinations and microchipped. I will be adopted on a strict non-breeding contract as I am not neutered. I am ready to go home with you now!

Name: Finnegan
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Age: 1 year
Sex: Male
Cats: Untested - maybe
Dogs: Yes- female
Kids: Yes, Older
Hi everyone! My name is Finn and I am a bright-eyed and bushy tailed sweetheart. I love to be around people and get lots of attention and give it back! I am medium sized, 60 lbs, although pretty skinny, so I might fill out some. I am seeking a very active forever home!
I need a lot of exercise, but afterwards, I am pretty good about settling down if you are working or go out. I just rest up quietly and watch out in case you move a muscle, because then I am right there to see what you are doing! But then I'll settle down again if nothing is happening.I might give a few whines or barks when you put me in my crate, but then I'll settle down and sleep till you come home! Although watch out when you let me out of my crate, because I am going to race around and bounce up and down and act crazy for a bit!
I love going on walks and runs and am learning not to pull, although I do get excited by other dogs and will sometimes bark or jump a bit. But I'm learning that my foster mom will give me a treat if I walk nicely past, so I am starting to just look for that instead! I don't worry at all about bikes, cars, streetcars, city noises so I would be fine in a busy place once I learn to walk nicely. I also would love to be a running companion. My foster mom says I run better than my foster siblings because I don't stop to try and pick up garbage! Running tires me out more, but I am good with just walking too, and as long as I get some good mileage in the morning and late afternoon, I'm pretty calm after a play session with my sister. (Okay, maybe a fairly long play session).
I love to play with my foster sister, we run around chasing each other or just wrestle. I sometimes get a little rough and she tells me off and then I argue with her, but we get over it pretty fast. I am not as sure about my foster brother, and I am a little bit more protective of food and toys (and my foster mom) around him, but I am okay with my sister. WIth my foster parents, I am not possessive at all, although I haven't been trained to release things, but I give them up and I am learning to do it on command.
I am house trained, but when I first arrived, I got really excited and thought I should mark my new territory, but I've stopped that now! I know sit and down, but I generally need some treat encouragement, and I have trouble concentrating on commands when I am excited and especially outside when there is so much going on. But, my foster mom says I am really trainable!
I haven't met any kids up close, but I don't react to them, but when I greet people I am really excited, so older kids would be better for me. I don't try to escape the yard, the crate or dig holes in the yard. I have stolen some food off the counter, so I need to be watched in the kitchen. I'm pretty well behaved, just really really energetic!
I am curious, and loving and really want to be a part of a family. I would make a wonderful addition to a loving (but active) home.
I am neutered, up to date on my rabies vaccination and microchipped. I am ready to go home!

Name: Jagger
Breed: Siberian Husky x Collie
Sex: Male
Age: 10 years old
Cats: No
Dogs: No
Kids: No
Well, hello there. My name is Jagger, and I am a Husky x Collie. I am in need of an experienced home where I am the only pet, and ideally a rural setting where there are not a lot of interactions with other animals.
I am not an escape artist, and I am house trained. I am also used to being able to be both indoors and outdoors in an enclosed space, of course. I am looking for my perfect forever family. Once I am bonded to you, I am very loving and loyal to my person.
I need a home with someone who can take me for a good walk or two and play with me. I am an older guy, but very energetic!!! I am incredibly smart and willing to learn and please. I do need someone who can commit time and energy to me and my training. Someone who can read and understands body language would be the most ideal as well. I love to lay on my doggie bed after I have had my daily exercise and just chill out. I do like to bark, so no attached housing please! I do have some important other quirks we need to discuss.
I will go after animals without provocation due to my dog reactivity. This has, unfortunately, resulted in many bites to humans due to redirecting when I am reached for. I also have handling sensitivities around my hips, which can lead to a bite if you don’t read and respond to my warning signs appropriately. I am very good at being muzzled for my medicated baths and just any type of restraint/handling that needs to be done. However, like anything else, that requires a trust bond first. Please, no kids, dogs or cats in my home. I did make a doggie-friend short-term, but I blew that with resource guarding, which I also do with humans as well.
I am very food driven, but am gentle about taking my food. I catch on to routine quickly and am very smart! I do need to work on my leash walking manners, and I need to learn not to jump up on people and stick my dewclaws in their legs. With the right person, I will be an amazing addition to an active home! As you can see by my coat, I do have an autoimmune condition and seasonal as well as dietary allergies. I do best on a brand called Forza-10, or a raw meat diet.
I am neutered and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you now!

Name: Maverick
Breed: Siberian Husky Mix
Sex: Male
Age: 2.5 Years
Dogs: No
Cats: No
Kids: Yes, older
Hello Everyone! I am Maverick!. I am estimated to be about 2.5 years old. I was found on the streets as a stray and ended up in a shelter. So not much of my past is known. I am here seeking a forever home with a fully-fenced yard or that will keep me secured so that I don’t run away again!
I am new to domestic life and will need a family willing to commit to training. I have only been with my new foster family for a week and a half and have just started to learn basic manners. I am eager to learn and pick up new commands quickly. I am a little underweight so extra treats for training would speed up the process, but I will also do anything for a belly rub! I weighed in at only 18kg at the vet, so I am not a large boy! Good things come in small packages, as they say!
I love riding in the car, and am almost fully crate trained. I’m still working on the command to go in the crate. I have no separation anxiety, which is a big bonus! I come out of my crate eager to please and will give kisses. I am just the friendliest boy with humans! I have not formally met children, but I believe I will be fine with older children as I am very affectionate and haven’t shown any aggression towards humans. I have not tried to bite anyone yet, but I don’t like my tail to be touched. A meet and greet will be required just to be safe.
I am so excited to go for walks, but need to be introduced slowly and in a controlled manner to other dogs. I was a stray so I have not learned how to interact with new dogs yet. I am currently living with 2 other dogs in my foster home and learning that they are not the enemy! With time and patience, I believe I can overcome this bad habit of growling at other dogs. I just need someone to believe in me! Please, no cats. I have a high prey drive. I am looking for a pet-free home for now, unless my new person is as experienced and patient as my wonderful foster family at helping me learn about dogs and socialize better.
I am a fast learner. In the week and a half since I have been here, I have learned to Heel, and Sit on command. We are also working on Leave it, and Down. Everyone that has met me has fallen in love with me, and I just want to cuddle all the time, but I need an Alpha to guide me in correct behaviours and not let me run wild around the house. I will need to be leashed for the first few weeks while I learn my place in your home.
I am neutered, up to date on my DHPP and rabies vaccinations and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Mickey
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 10 years
Cats: Yes
Dogs: Yes
Kids: Yes
Hi there, I’m Mickey! I am estimated to be 10 years old. I was dirty and smelly and not feeling my best when I came into the shelter. When I was rescued I was immediately bathed a few times and instantly started feeling better. I am seeking just about any home and am a perfect angel!
I’ll start with the good stuff. I’m a very happy and friendly boy who loves everyone I meet. When my foster mom first picked me up we went for dinner on a patio. The other customers loved me and vice versa. I even got to share some yummy pub food. That was really exciting after sitting in a kennel at the pound for so long.
I’ve yet to meet a dog I don’t like, yet some don’t like me. Im pretty submissive so I just turn the other cheek for the most part. I even met a friendly cat in my foster home and didn’t pay him any mind. I don’t jump up and I walk fairly well on a leash. I love being in the house and exploring, hunting for treats and tidbits of people food. My foster mom has tried me in the indoor/outdoor kennel with my foster sister but I really do prefer to be inside with people. I haven’t had any accidents during my short visits in the house and I also do well in a crate overnight. Car rides are fun, but I might need a little help getting in higher vehicles as my joints just aren’t what they used to be. I am very quiet for the most part, sometimes you wouldn’t even know I was there.
Now for the not so good stuff. When I came into care I had a bump on my nose and was rather snuffly, sometimes with a drop of blood coming out. I was immediately taken to the Vet where it was felt I may have cancer (up in my muzzle). He also noticed a lump near my testicle which is also likely cancerous. The vet gave me an antibiotic and steroid shot and sent me home with a pain killer prescription. I’m feeling quite fine now and you wouldn’t even know I was sick. The vet couldn’t give my foster mom an idea of how long I might have so it could be months, could be a year or more. I know I’ll be able to tell whoever I’m with when I’m ready to go but for now I’m going to live life to the fullest!
I am up to date on my DHPP and bordatella vaccinations and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you and become your best companion in my golden years!

Breed: Alaskan Malamute mix
Sex: Male
Age: 2 years
Cats: No
Dogs: No
Kids: No
Hi, I'm Nanook! I'm a handsome 2 year old lug looking for a new loving family! I urgently need an experienced malamute home. I can be very vocal as well, so ideally, attached housing would be best, but I am open to any and all applications!
I am a pretty typical Malamute and full of sass! I can also be incredibly stubborn and bull-headed. You have to know how the play the malamute game to make me do what you want when I really do not want to do it. I have air-snapped when attempted to be forced to do something I do not want to do, which can cause humans to react the wrong way. I have bitten a few times because I am misunderstood and not a fan of being forced to do things or restrained.
I have also bitten over redirection during a dog-fight, and have air-snapped when not getting my way when I want to go after another dog and am pulled away. I am said to be good with female dogs, however even that is hit and miss. I will initiate play with select dogs, but then it turns bad. I don’t believe I was properly socialized as a COVID puppy, so I don’t know how to act appropriately around other dogs. With more work, once settled into my new home, I might be able to co-habit carefully with a female dog. However, for now, I am seeking a pet-free home please! As I have bitten, I also need a child-free home.
I am not a fan of crates either, so I wasn’t properly crate-trained as a puppy. I will put up a fuss and snap at you if you try to get me to go in one. I can also guard objects within the home, so I need someone that is experienced with resource guarding and playing the malamute game! I am big and handsome, and can be a lot of fun with the right person! Unlike most malamutes, I am a bit picky with my dinner menu. I am not a fan of raw meat, but will eat kibble and absolutely love canned food! I also love to leave a trail of watr from the water dish to wherever I’ve gone, in typical malamute fashion!
I am believed to be house trained as I try to be tidy in my kennel and I was raised in a house. I am not muzzle trained, and definitely need to work on that for vet-trips and walks around other animals.
I am neutered, up to date on all of my vaccinations and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you immediately!

Age: 4 years

Dogs: Yes - see description

Hi there, my name is Odie and I was born on June 19 2019! I am here seeking a forever home where someone is always home as I have separation anxiety and do not do well being alone. I don’t require an overly active home despite my breed, so I should be able to fit in as long as you’re always home!
I am a sweet, gentle, and calm lover of belly rubs! I love attention, but am not pushy about it. As long as I know you are nearby, I am cool as a cucumber. I am house trained, but am not crate trained as I absolutely cannot stand being in a crate.
I enjoy going for my morning walk, followed by breakfast and then lounging around the house for the rest of the day until it is supper time and backyard sunshine time with my people in the evening! As I cannot be alone, we could even do backyard sunshine time at any time of the day too! I am very adaptable, so will settle into your routine fairly easily, as long as I am either not alone or at daycare!
On that note, I do enjoy my walkies and like to try meeting other dogs on walks. I seem to be better with smaller breed dogs and larger dogs that are submissive. If a dog similar size or bigger tries to be dominant towards me, I don’t like that. I will need more work on my dog greeting skills and confidence with my new humans. This may help with my separation anxiety, but it is isn’t a guarantee. I have been with my current family for 2 years and still struggle to be alone more than hour, even with a bone to chew. I love, and am good with, all humans, so kids shouldn’t be a problem. I have not formally met any cats, but as I do have a high prey drive, it is best if I not be with cats please.
I am neutered and up to date on all of my vaccinations. My adopter will be provided with an already registered microchip to have inserted by a veterinarian upon my adoption as I am not yet microchipped.I am ready to go home with you otherwise!

Name: Poncho
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Age: 1 year
Sex: Male
Cats: No
Dogs: Yes
Kids: Yes, Older
Hello! I am Poncho and I am a one year old super sweet and friendly husky mix boy that’s still filled with lots of puppy energy. I am so special that I have two different colour eyes (heterochromia) - one blue and one brown. I am a tall guy but still very thin, weighing approximately just over 60 lbs. I am here seeking an active forever home where someone is home more often than not.
I enjoy going on walks and I get excited when I pass other dogs and humans, I want to say hi to everyone! I am still learning leash manners and like to pull but when it is just me and my foster mom I pull a lot less than when my foster sister (dog) comes along too. When she is with me, I want to lead the group and get in front. I sometimes get excited when I see squirrels and other animals and I pull toward them.
I also enjoy running around in the backyard and playing with my dog toys. Sometimes my foster sister joins me in playtime and I love playing with her!! However, I do play a little bit rough with her and like to use my mouth a lot. I really like to wrestle and I sometimes bodycheck her and shove my head under her belly to lift her up. She has lots of patience for my crazy play but some dogs may not like it. Sometimes I don’t understand when she wants play to be over so my foster mom has to remind me to leave her alone.
When it comes to my crate, I get so happy when I am let out of the crate but sad when I’m put in it. Sometimes it takes many yummy treats and some time (and patience for my foster mom), until I go inside it. I will cry, and sometimes but rarely, bark, when I first get in but I do eventually settle down and sleep. I am still in the process of learning to like my crate but I definitely rather be outside of it sleeping on my dog bed or floor than inside of it. I am a smarty pants and have already learned to escape my crate. My foster mom had to put zip ties around the wires to make sure I can’t escape again. Once I escaped, I only tore apart some of a cardboard box and didn’t get into or chew anything else in the room.
I am fully potty trained and I know the basic commands of Sit and Paw. I sometimes come when I am called. I am still learning the words Down and learning (and doing well at it) to have patience and to wait, when doors are being open or when I am being fed or given treats. My foster mom thinks I am a very very sweet boy. I love pets from her and when she stops petting me, I like to gently remind her that I am still there by giving her my paw. I am a little love bug and love to be around the humans. I have tried to go on her bed but when she told me off and redirected me, I was okay with hanging out on the floor. Sometimes I talk back to my foster dad and give him a whole husky spiel when he tries to tell me what to do. I guess I like to argue with words sometimes.
I have not met kids yet since being with my foster family, but I do get excited when I pass them on walks and my foster mom thinks I would be friendly with them. I have lots to offer but also still have learning to do and I can’t wait to do that with my new forever family. I am very very energetic and still working on my manners, so older kids would be best please so that I don’t accidentally knock little ones down.
I am neutered, up to date on my DHPP and Bordetella vaccinations and microchipped. I am ready to go home!

***ON INTAKE WAITING LIST - NEEDS FOSTER***
Sorry it's been crazy here. This is Sailor. He is about 6-7 years old. Came to us as a stray, was found running loose around a boat launch with a harness on. He is great in his kennel, clean and loves getting brushed. Knows some basic commands. His biggest issue is he does not like to be restrained. We vaccinated him by distraction with treats, so that worked well but we have not been able to do his H.W test as he will get his "dramatic husky" on with screaming and trying to break free. Has not bit but might if you push him.
Name: Shadow
Breed: Siberian Husky x Alaskan Malamute
Sex: Male
Age: 6.5 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Selective
Kids: No
Hi there, I’m Shadow and I am about 6.5 years old. I am seeking an experienced forever home, so please read carefully. I am said to be a Siberian Husky, but I have a lot of Malamute traits, so, I must be a mix of the two! I am also fairly large as well!
I need exercise, routine, patience and understanding to allow me to feel safe enough to be myself. You see, I have a hard time trusting humans as they have let me down in
the past. This fear shows in some of my strange and bizarre biting triggers. Within my foster home I have grown immensely and am thriving. We have established an understanding of what I need to avoid these strange triggers. For example, I do not like it when you use your hand to wipe the floor or start to clean. I much prefer to be safe in a closed room while the cleaning is completed.
I find comfort in routine and love to go for long walks so I can explore. I also live for car rides. Any time I can jump in I will show you to the car! I am crate trained, house trained, and muzzled trained. I am not good with children or cats as they are unpredictable. Some dogs seem to scare me, and if I see another dog as a threat, I will try to lunge at them or try to beat them up. I can be quite reactive on the leash with other dogs and need a pet-free home please. I do seem to love all people and will greet everyone as a friend. I am highly food motivated and I will do just about anything for food. I even try to anticipate in hopes of pleasing someone just enough to indulge in a treat. However, due to my odd triggers, I need a child-free home please!
I know my basic obedience commands and am excellent at waving to you to get your attention. I used to be a sled dog, but I am not a fan of that job and have adapted very well to pet life. I am a sweet boy; you just need to work around my quirks and understand me. How am I still in rescue after over 2 years?! I had the same foster for 2 years, an adopter for a week, and am now in boarding. I was too dog-reactive for my adopter and pulled him down, injuring his knee. However, I don’t feel that I am truly THAT bad. I am not a huge fan of grooming however and will get snappy during the drying process, so please make sure my groomer is experienced and prepared with a muzzle.
I am neutered, up to date on all of my vaccinations, and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Spencer
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 5.5 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Selective
Kids: No
Hi there, I’m Spencer and I am about 5.5 years old. I am seeking an experienced forever home with a fence at least 5ft high, so please read carefully. I need exercise, structure, rules and training, so please be prepared to give me what I need! My forever home must have experience with resource guarding.
I have the most expressive ears! My ears are always moving up and down and begging for you to give me any attention at all! Even just talking to me makes me a happy little boy. I will also lean in for cuddles and snuggles once I know you. It is extremely important to never fully trust me though, even though I am sweet and want your affection. I warm up to new people quickly, but can be stand-offish and/or growl initially if meeting through a fence. I have bitten on a first introduction once, and I need to be with a very understanding and experienced person. I am more oriented towards women, but have accepted one man.
I found myself in the shelter due to guarding strange people from entering my previous home, but only from the front door. In the shelter, I showed no guarding issues of this sort and was even fine with meeting dogs through my kennel. However, here in boarding, I have growled and lunged at every human that has approached my kennel. When I am outside of my kennel, I am a lot less reactive. A meet and greet will be required if I am to live with other dogs. I have a high prey drive for the cat, so no cats please! I cannot be with children!
I do have a bite history over a tissue that I wanted being held too long for my liking, and multiple times have mouthed and nipped/snapped, breaking the skin. I did spend 2 months in an apartment and can do it again if I get adequate exercise! I give lots of warning if you know how to read me, but not everyone can. As a result, I have bitten multiple people now. I have been returned twice now for biting Please be patient and understanding so that I am not returned again! I excite very easily, which is why I have little inhibition to not use my mouth. If I have a bone in my mouth, I will growl and turn away so you cannot take it from me. I love my dinner so much that I bounce up and down until I am served, and will guard it while I am eating. I will sit for a moment before my dinner bowl heads towards the floor, and am working on sitting longer before being fed. I am not good on a tether as I tangle myself a lot, and will bite when you are trying to help me in my panic.
I cannot emphasize enough that I need a special, experienced, and dedicated person to help me through my reactivity and guarding behaviours. Once we have a trust and understanding, I am a great boy! However, it is likely to be a rough go for the first few weeks as we establish routine and boundaries. I am one of the more difficult dogs at the rescue and have been looking for a home for over 2.5 years now!
I am neutered and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Hi there, I’m Storm and I am 5 years old. I am seeking a new home where I am not around children and with experienced people who are used to resource guarding behaviours.
I am used to being a house pet, and can be left alone for 6/7 hours without any trouble provided that food is put away and garbage/recyling is not accessible. I am very house trained and am crate trained. I like to go for my daily long walks and to spend time with my family. I like to play ball with my family, especially if we are outside and there is snow on the ground! I love peanut butter, so muzzle training me should be a breeze! I am very curious and smart, as well as loyal and protective of my family. I am also quite protective of my stuff, or stuff I think is mine.
When I moved into my last family, I was allowed on the couch and in the bed, but they realized that when it's time for me to move away, I don't like to give space and can be challenging. Therefore, I am not allowed on those anymore. On a day to day basis, I am a really quiet dog. I do not require lots of exercise, and as long as I got my daily walk, I am happy! If it's time for my walk and you forget me, I will make sure you know with my own language that I need to go outside and explore! I like to play ball and I love tug of war. Be ready; I don't let go!! I was not much into staying outside by myself, but as the nice weather is coming out I like to relax in the my fenced yard and get a tan. I do not bark unless I feel a threat or am in an anxious state, but I like to howl and will be incredibly loud and reactive to a passing cat, squirrel, etc. I am a really smart dog. I do obey basic obedience commands. I will anticipate everything you are going to ask from me for some treats or peanut butter At first I might be distant, but as soon as I get to know and trust you, I become an affectionate dog. I love belly rubs too.
I have bitten several times I dislike children and cats, and I am a resource guarder. I will bite if I feel you are taking my stuff, or stuff I perceive as mine. I like to hide toys in places like the couch, and if you unknowingly go for it, I will bite you. I am sorry, but it is mine! I have also bitten a good samaritan who caught me by my collar when I door dashed out of my previous adoptive home. If you can read dog body language, it is easier to determine when certain handing, like collar grabbing/holding, will become an issue. I am otherwise good for light petting/handling. I tried to see a veterinarian however, and I was not having any part of that. I got sent home without being examined because I was anxious, uncomfortable, and acting aggressively. I need to be muzzle trained before I see a veterinarian again. I am absolutely not a fan of restraint of any kind, and am very skeptical of a muzzle coming near my face, especially when you try to do it up! Like I said, I am smart! I need more positive associations with the muzzle! I have not been well-socialized with other dogs in the past, and as a result, I would do best without another dog until I am more settled, trained, and we have established a connection.
I am neutered and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Tobi
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 7 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Yes
Kids: No
Hey there, I’m the super adorable Tobi! I was born on October 13 2016. After 5.5 years in rescue rehabilitation care, I think I am ready to search for my extra special home. I need a home where there are absolutely no children and a very experienced owner. I am very selective on who I accept to be my person, but I am opening up to more and more people the longer I am with my foster mom.
When I am out in public with foster mom, I am always wearing my basket muzzle. When I am in my muzzle in public, I love to receive all sorts of affection, belly rubs, and cuddles. I feel secure and safe in my muzzle, however when I am not muzzled, I am know I am not trustworthy and I make poor decisions.
I have a 2-time bite history that required stitches over rough handling and restraint. However, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I am quite an interesting boy and my new person will need to learn my cues and listen to rescue advice on how to best handle me in different situations. I am very hard to read behaviour-wise, and I am a protector. Once I form a bond with my person, that person will never have to fear wrong-doing from anyone so long as I am with my person.
I know my basic obedience commands such as sit, down and come and I enjoy doing obedience with my foster mom. However, I can get a bit too worked up during our training sessions and get into a state of drooling and vomiting up water in anticipation of the treat. This is part of where my unpredictability comes from. I am also food and resource possessive with humans and other animals.
I am dog-friendly with most dogs, but some dogs just rub me the wrong way. A meet and greet will be required before I can go home with you for many reasons. Maybe even several meet and greets depending on how the first one goes. Any parties interested in me MUST be receptive to advice and be gentle with me as I do NOT respond well to reprimand or raised voices at all! Ideally, my person will be fairly local. My person MUST be experienced and understanding of my high bite risk!
I am neutered, microchipped, and dewormed. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Wilson
Breed: Siberian Husky X
Sex: Male
Age: 6 years
Cats: No - untested
Dogs: Yes - submissive only
Kids: No
Hi there, the name is Wilson! I am described as a loyal, loving and affectionate boy and I am looking for a forever home without small kids. Wilson will do well in a household with experience understanding dogs that were previously abused due to his experience when he was younger.
I love going for walks, or any kind of adventure with my human. Car rides, walk, jog, snowshoe, hike? I will happily go with you! I adore human companionship and love people once the trust is built between us. I am leery of new people sometimes, in particular men. I was a very scared and timid dog, however I have come a long way since my current family rescued me from Northern Ontario in 2018. Once I trust you, I am the sweetest most affectionate, endearing and empathetic dog you will ever meet. I love nothing more than an evening snuggle with my humans.
Most of the time – I love meeting new people. However, I am known to react defensively if certain people approach me too quickly and energetically. It is suggested to introduce me to new people at a slow pace and with care as I still have fear based triggers from my earlier life. I do have 1 bite history previously as a result of this, as I was scared and was defending my loved ones. While I have grown up with two small kids since they were babies and have always accepted them as part of my pack, I would do best in a predictable home with older kids or only adults who understand me and what I need.My triggers are few and once you know what they are (strangers entering the home unexpectedly, a noisy trailer going by on a car, sometimes fast moving bicycles whizzing by closely on a walk)
I also love canine companionship. Like a typical husky, I play rough and sometimes it could be loud. However, I am known to be comfortable with other dogs once I settle down. While I love going on adventure with you, I am also pretty flexible in the house, either indoor or outdoor. If you’re an outdoor person camping or enjoy the beaches, I will definitely be your new best friend! I am very vocal and enjoy either a group howl or communicate with you all the time, so a detached house would be ideal. I am house trained, but am not crate trained. I am, however, fine in the home for a full work day without getting into mischief.
I have never lived with a cat, but do display a prey drive when I go on a walk. Let's stick with a household without a feline friend to avoid any accidents. While I have never had any formal training, my family think I am actually quite intelligent! I know many commands like sit, stay, come, lay down and am always patient upon food time. I even walk well on leash, and respond to reminders to heel! I really am a good boy, I just need the right home please!
I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations, and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!
