***URGENT FOSTER NEEDED***
Name: Blaze
Breed: Husky X
Weight:
Gender: M
Spayed/Neutered: Neutered
Age:
Reason for Intake: Arrived as a stray, adopted out, and returned due to attacking another dog, resulting in death.
Medical: UTD on Rabies, DA2PP, and Bordetella.
Good with Dogs: Unknown with large dogs. No for small dogs
Good with Cats: No due to prey drive.
Good with Kids: I would not recommend him as he can be mouthy and nippy.
Good with Strangers: Yes, with a proper slower introduction and polite stranger
Resource Guarding: None seen
Behaviour: Blaze is your typical high energy breed dog. He has a high prey drive; he can become fixated on things and needs redirection. Blaze hasn’t handled the shelter environment well. He’s a very active boy, who needs lots of stimulation and enrichment.
House trained: yes
Crate Trained: Unknown
Destructive: Hasn’t shown destruction tendencies.
Energy Level: High
Leash Skills: Strong puller
Sensitivity/Medical Manipulation: Wiggly with restraint but handles vaccines well.
Known Commands: Sit
Food: Royal Canin Adult
Anything else you need to know:
Blaze is a very sweet boy who has been put in a very unfortunate situation. Blaze’s previous adopters were fully informed that he had a prey drive, wouldn’t do well with small dogs, and shouldn't be in a dog park. On the evening of May 3rd, the owners took Blaze to the dog park. Instead of taking Blaze into the large dog park, they placed him in the small dog park (only under 30 pounds; signs posted). The reason stated by his owner was that the small dog park was smaller, making it easier to catch him again. The owner believed it was empty, but unfortunately it was not. Blaze grabbed a small Yorkie, which led to the death of the small dog. Due to this incident, Blaze cannot be considered an adoption candidate.
Blaze would benefit from a foster home type placement as he has not handled the shelter environment well and has high kennel stress. If given the right opportunity, Blaze would make an amazing companion. If you have the space and resources to take on this boy or have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

Name: Creme Brulee
Breed: Alaskan Malamute mix
Sex: Male
Age: 6 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Yes - see description
Kids: No
Hi there, I am Creme Brulee, the very handsome malamute lad! I am estimated to be about 5 years old and I am seeking an adult only home with no cats and that does not use dog parks. I am a smart dog, but not a SMART dog. I am a courtesy listing, so please understand that inquiries and applications for me may be delayed and may not be approved by my rescue, but may be considered by SMART for one of their dogs!
I am seeking a malamute experienced home that can help me through my fears due to having a heavy-handed past. I also need a moderately active home 3 seasons out of the year, and a very active home in the winter. If you love to be outside playing in the snow, I would love you to be my human! I am looking for someone that can encourage me to gain confidence every day since it takes me a little bit to open up to new people. Please be patient with me - I come with some baggage!
I am generally a quiet boy, but in typical malamute fashion, I like to woooooo you. Everyone loves to be around me! Once I trust you, I love to give you shoulder hugs! It is just so cute, but you have to really be on my good books to be graced with my huggies. I also love to play fetch with my trusted people! Unlike those silly huskies, I actually bring the ball back! I will need someone that can keep up on my training, since I am a malamute afterall. Give me an inch, and I will take a mile!
I get along with most dogs as long as they are not rude and can respect me and give me my personal space when I ask for it. I do have a slight preference for females dogs, typical to my breed. I also have a preference for other northern breed dogs. I would like to share my home with a fellow malamute, or one of those little husky-things. A meet and greet will be required with any dogs I am to share my home with, just to be on the safe side. Please, no cats or children.
I have been searching for a home with my rescue for over a year now. Perhaps being posted with a breed-specific rescue as a courtesy post will help me find me forever home soon? I am neutered, fully up to date on all of my vaccinations, and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you! My rescue is Inugoya and can be reached at inu.goya@outlook.com, or you an submit an application on the SMART website and it will be forwarded to my rescue! Again, I am not a SMART dog and SMART is only courtesy posting me.

Name: Finn
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 1 year
Cats: No
Dogs: Selective
Kids: Unknown
Hi! My name is Finn and I am the beautiful blue-eyed boy with the perky bow tie that you may have seen casually leaning out the car window or carrying my backpack on a hike. I was born on September 1 2021, so I am still a young, growing boy.
I am a big boy- 14 months old now and 70 pounds- but I am really quite good at walking on my leash with my gentle leader on. Sometimes I do pull in excitement though- those squirrels and rabbits are just asking for me to play with them!! I like going for walks and hikes and even chasing sticks in the water at the beach, but I also am really happy to snuggle on the couch with my human or settle on the floor for a nap. I will often ask my human to play with my toys, but can be directed to play with them on my own too.
I love being with my human!! I am happy to sleep with them on the bed or just in the room, if they are working nights, hang out on the couch or in the same room and go on errands in the car. It really upsets me when I get left alone and I can chew and destroy things because I am very anxious. I am trying medication and have had all the toys and games and exercise...but if I could find a home where the humans are around more often, or can take me to work with them, I would be very happy!!
I've gone to training classes and did very well! I can walk well on a leash, know to wait and to stay, sit, down, I am very happy to let you go through the door first and wait to be invited in. I know my recall commands and am sometimes so excited to come when called that I don't put the brakes on soon enough and blow right by you! My human does say that when I get excited my ears are painted on ornaments, but we are always working on that!
I can be picky about who I play with- kids are a bit scary, they do strange things and try to grab my face (because I'm so soft and handsome). I don't get along with some dogs- instantly submissive ones and puppies especially and my human says I can be a bully to them. So we watch out and are careful at the park if we don't know some of the other dogs. I know that I'm a handsome boy- everyone tells me, even strangers in cars at stoplights!- and I often think I should be the centre of attention. That means that sometimes if you aren't paying attention to me, I will jump up and put my paws on you. I'm a big boy, so this isn't ok and I am working at improving my manners here.
I would be a wonderful addition to a home that wants a smart, loving boy who can go on adventures with me and don't have to leave me alone for long.
I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations, and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Ghost
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 5 months
Cats: Maybe
Dogs: Yes - mandatory
Kids: Yes – older
Boo! Did I scare you? My name is Ghost. I am a special boy in need of a calm and patient home. I am very young, but I do have some challenges to overcome due to my difficult first few months of life. I am very under-socialized, so I am afraid of everyone and everything at first. I will need some time to decompress when I come home with you, but when I do, I am as goofy as they come! I am looking for a home with a fenced in yard and an existing dog please.
I love bones and chew toys and doing the zoomies around the yard and house. I do not have a sensitive stomach, and am incredibly treat motivated, so coaxing me out of my crate is quite easy if you are patient and let me come to you. On my crate – it is my safe space! I am fully crate and house trained and, while I may whine for a second when you leave the room, I quiet down soon after. Although, I do like it when you leave the door open and I can pop my head and paws out.
Even though I am a puppy and will likely grow out of my timidness with time and socialization, I would do best in a home with an older, calm dog to show me the way. I would also do well with younger dogs that love to play. I sometimes like to steal toys or treats from my other dog friends, but this is something I am working on and will need help to correct as I grow. I love to run around and play, but I am also still scared of sudden movements! For this reason, I would prefer to live in a home with older, dog-savvy children. I am not cat-tested, but I am young and have shown no signs of a prey drive while on short walks outside. I might be ok with a feline companion.
I know that I will be sought after due to my appearance, but please understand that I am very fearful and will take time and patience, as well as an experienced owner with another dog in the home to bring out my full potential. I will not be adopted to a home without an existing dog or with young children as I do have a potential to bite out of fear. I just need some consistency and a quiet environment as well. I have warmed a lot of hearts in my last 2 weeks as I get socialized and come out of my shell more and more with the help of other dogs!
I will be adopted on a strict non-breeding and neuter agreement to be completed between 1 and 2 years old. My adopter will be provided with an already registered microchip to have inserted by their veterinarian upon my adoption as I am not yet microchipped. Due to my recessive genes and co-efficient of in-breeding, I need a home that will not vaccinate me or use flea and tick meds on me in order to reduce my chances of getting epilepsy.

Name: Jagger
Breed: Siberian Husky x Collie
Sex: Male
Age: 9 years old
Cats: No
Dogs: No
Kids: No
Well, hello there. I know, I am a looker. I am a very handsome and fit guy. Aren’t I just so photogenic? My name is Jagger, and I am a Husky x Collie. I am in need of an experienced home where I am the only pet, and ideally a rural setting where there are not a lot of interactions with other animals.
I am not an escape artist, and I am house trained. I am also used to being able to be both indoors and outdoors in an enclosed space, of course. I am looking for my perfect forever family. Once I am bonded to you, I am very loving and loyal to my person.
I need a home with someone who can take me for a good walk or two and play with me. I am and older guy, but very energetic!!! I do have a limp in my back leg and hold it up, but it does not stop me from running for hours at all! I am incredibly smart and willing to learn and please. I do need someone who can commit time and energy to me and my training. I have been crated in the past, so that might be an option, but since I got off the plane, I have not wanted to go in it. I do like to bark, so no attached housing please! I do have some important other quirks we need to discuss.
My current family thinks I would do best in a home with no kids, and if possible, none living nearby. I will go after animals without provocation due to my dog reactivity. This has, unfortunately, resulted in many bites to humans due to redirecting when I am reached for. I also have handling sensitivities around my hips, which can lead to a bite if you don’t read and respond to my warning signs appropriately.
I am very food driven, but am gentle about taking my food. I catch on to routine quickly and am very smart! I do need to work on my leash walking manners, and I need to learn not to jump up on people and stick my dewclaws in their legs. With the right person, I will be an amazing addition to an active home! Please no cats - I see the cat every day and want to get ahold of her.
I am neutered, up to date on my vaccines and I am microchipped. I am ready to go home with you now!

Breed: Alaskan Malamute mix
Cats: No
Dogs: No
Kids: No
Nanook is now in Ontario and is seeking a very special foster home ASAP please as he is currently in boarding at $30 a day and that adds up quickly!
His foster human MUST have Malamute experience and be comfortable with resource guarding and appropriate Malamute handling. He will air-snap/attempt to bite if he is over-stimulated and/or scared.
He has bitten many times, but all have been minor with either punctures or only pressure wounds. All have been due to resource guarding or redirection during breaking up an altercation with another dog.
He is said to be good with female dogs, but currently, he needs a stress-free environment to settle down and decompress for proper assessment before we can determine if he would be ok with a female dog or not.
Full behaviour report from the shelter is available and will be shared with successful potential candidates. All vaccines are up to date and he is microchipped. Currently located in Pembroke, ON.
SPONSORS also greatly appreciated for his hefty boarding bill! Https://www.smartrescue.ca/support-us or PayPal or e-transfer to perunsiberians@hotmail.com with a memo it is for Nanook boarding.

Age: 5.5 years

Hello! I’m Ryder, I’m a 5.5 years old Siberian Husky Mix. I was born on April 28 2017. I am in need of an experienced home where I am the only pet and where I will be loved and well looked after. I’m a very sweet boy, keep reading!
I’m a relatively lazy husky compared to others, and love staying inside. I do have a backyard to run around in my current home, but I am not a very energetic husky afterall. I would still enjoy some walks and runs to let me sniff around and check things out on a daily basis though! I am on metacam regularly for my hips, as they are not great. This is probably part of why I am calmer than most siberians!
I am an attention seeker in the house, and love being part of the family. You see, I am a very loveable dog and love any attention I could get! However, I would push other animals out when I see them getting attention and therefore would be best in a new home as the only pet. I am however a super cuddly and kissy dog and love all humans, including kids! Any attention would make me a happy little boy, and I would enjoy some snuggles too!
I am house trained, and crate trained. With my mom back at work, I am now left alone at home approximately twice a week for 8 hours each day. When I’m home by myself, I’m usually crated and would settle in quickly. I have been muzzle trained for times when I interact with other dogs, and am a good listener! I am also very good with my commands like leave it, no, drop it, cage and sit. Except when you tell me to sit I would usually just lay down probably because of my lazy personality and hips!
So, what about cats? Well, I have always been protective of my family but was not as prominent with other pets. Unfortunately I fatally injured one of the kittens in the house recently, so it would be best for me to be in a home without a feline friend.
I am neutered, up to date on my vaccines and I am microchipped. I am said to have some hip issues and would need metacam daily to ease the medical concern. I am ready to go home with you now!

Name: Shadow
Breed: Siberian Husky x Alaskan Malamute
Sex: Male
Age: 6.5 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Selective
Kids: No
Hi there, I’m Shadow and I am about 5.5 years old. I am seeking an experienced forever home, so please read carefully. I am said to be a Siberian Husky, but I have a lot of Malamute traits, so, I must be a mix of the two!
I need exercise, routine, patience and understanding to allow me to feel safe enough to be myself. You see, I have a hard time trusting humans as they have let me down in
the past. This fear shows in some of my strange and bizarre biting triggers. I have a behavior observation report that will be shared with chosen potential candidates as part of the full disclosure of this rescue. Within my foster home I have grown immensely and am thriving. We have established an understanding of what I need to avoid these strange triggers. For example, I do not like it when you use your hand to wipe the floor or start to clean. I much prefer to be safe in a closed room while the cleaning is completed.
I find comfort in routine and love to go for long walks so I can explore. I also live for car rides. Any time I can jump in I will show you to the car! I am crate trained, house trained, and muzzled trained. I am not good with children or cats as they are unpredictable. There are select dogs that I get along with, so I could do a meet and greet if my prospective home has another dog to see if it is an option. Some dogs seem to scare me, and if I see another dog as a threat, I will try to lunge at them or try to beat them up. If I am not threatened, I’m happy and excited with new friends. I do seem to love all people and will greet everyone as a friend. I am highly food motivated and I will do just about anything for food. I even try to anticipate in hopes of pleasing someone just enough to indulge in a treat.
I know my basic obedience commands and am excellent at walking on leash. I used to be a sled dog, but I am not a fan of that job and have adapted very well to pet life. I have been transferred in from another rescue, so I have a support network if my new family is in need of any assistance with figuring out my cues and triggers. I cannot believe that I have not had a single application or ounce of interest in the year I have been with the rescue! I am a sweet boy; you just need to work around my quirks and understand me.
I am neutered, up to date on all of my vaccinations, and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you and start our new lives together!

Name: Spencer
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 3.5 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Selective
Kids: No
Hi there, I’m Spencer and I am about 3.5 years old. I am seeking an experienced forever home with a fence at least 5ft high, so please read carefully. I need exercise, structure, rules and training, so please be prepared to give me what I need! My forever home must have experience with resource guarding.
I have the most expressive ears! My ears are always moving up and down and begging for you to give me any attention at all! Even just talking to me makes me a happy little boy. I will also lean in for cuddles and snuggles once I know you. I warm up to new people quickly, but can be stand-offish and/or growl initially if meeting through a fence. I have bitten on a first introduction once, and I need to be with a very understanding and experienced person. I am more oriented towards women, but have accepted one man.
I found myself in the shelter due to guarding strange people from entering my previous home, but only from the front door. In the shelter, I showed no guarding issues of this sort and was even fine with meeting dogs through my kennel. However, here in boarding, I have growled and lunged at every human that has approached my kennel. When I am outside of my kennel, I am a lot less reactive. A meet and greet will be required if I am to live with other dogs. I have a high prey drive for the cat, so no cats please! I cannot be with childre!
I do have a bite history over a tissue that I wanted being held too long for my liking, and multiple times have mouthed and nipped/snapped, breaking the skin. I did spend 2 months in an apartment and can do it again if I get adequate exercise! I give lots of warning if you know how to read me, but not everyone can. As a result, I have bitten multiple people now. I have been returned twice now for biting Please be patient and understanding so that I am not returned again! I excite very easily, which is why I have little inhibition to not use my mouth. If I have a bone in my mouth, I will growl and turn away so you cannot take it from me. I love my dinner so much that I bounce up and down until I am served, and will guard it while I am eating. I will sit for a moment before my dinner bowl heads towards the floor, and am working on sitting longer before being fed. I am not good on a tether as I tangle myself a lot, and will bite when you are trying to help me in my panic.
I cannot emphasize enough that I need a special, experienced, and dedicated person to help me through my reactivity and guarding behaviours. Once we have a trust and understanding, I am a great boy! However, it is likely to be a rough go for the first few weeks as we establish routine and boundaries. I am one of the more difficult dogs at the rescue and have been looking for a home for over a year.
I am neutered, up to date on all of my vaccinations, flea treated, and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Storm
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 4 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Maybe
Kids: No
Hi there, I’m Storm and I am 4 years old. I am seeking a new home where I am not around children and with experienced people who are used to resource guarding behaviours.
I am used to being a house pet, and can be left alone for 6/7 hours without any trouble provided that food is put away and garbage/recyling is not accessible. I am very house trained and am crate trained. I like to go for my daily long walks and to spend time with my family. I like to play ball with my family, especially if we are outside and there is snow on the ground! I love peanut butter, so muzzle training me should be a breeze! I am very curious and smart, as well as loyal and protective of my family. I am also quite protective of my stuff, or stuff I think is mine.
When I moved into my last family, I was allowed on the couch and in the bed, but they realized that when it's time for me to move away, I don't like to give space and can be challenging. Therefore, I am not allowed on those anymore. On a day to day basis, I am a really quiet dog. I do not require lots of exercise, and as long as I got my daily walk, I am happy! If it's time for my walk and you forget me, I will make sure you know with my own language that I need to go outside and explore! I like to play ball and I love tug or war. Be ready; I don't let go!! I was not much into staying outside by myself, but as the nice weather is coming out I like to relax in the my fenced yard and get a tan. I do not bark unless I feel a threat or am in an anxious state. I am a really smart dog. I do obey basic obedience commands. I will anticipate everything you are going to ask from me for some treats or peanut butter At first I might be distant, but as soon as I get to know and trust you, I become an affectionate dog. I love belly rubs too.
I have bitten several times I dislike children and cats, and I am a resource guarder. I will bite if I feel you are taking my stuff, or stuff I perceive as mine. I like to hide toys in places like the couch, and if you unknowingly go for it, I will bite you. I am sorry, but it is mine! I have also bitten a good samaritan who caught me by my collar when I door dashed out of my previous adoptive home. If you can read dog body language, it is easier to determine when certain handing, like collar grabbing/holding, will become an issue. I am otherwise good for light petting/handling. I tried to see a veterinarian however, and I was not having any part of that. I got sent home without being examined because I was anxious, uncomfortable, and acting aggressively. I need to be muzzle trained before I see a veterinarian again.
I haven’t met many dogs, but have met a few. Interactions went ok provided that the other dog didn’t start dominating or being aggressive towards me. A meet and greet will definitely be required if I am to live with another dog. If you have experience, please give me a chance!
I am neutered, up to date on all of my vaccinations, and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Tobi
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 6.5 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Yes
Kids: No
Hey there, I’m the super adorable Tobi! I was born on October 13 2016. After 5.5 years in rescue rehabilitation care, I think I am ready to search for my extra special home. I need a home where there are absolutely no children and a very experienced owner. I am very selective on who I accept to be my person, but I am opening up to more and more people the longer I am with my foster mom.
When I am out in public with foster mom, I am always wearing my basket muzzle. When I am in my muzzle in public, I love to receive all sorts of affection, belly rubs, and cuddles. I feel secure and safe in my muzzle, however when I am not muzzled, I am know I am not trustworthy and I make poor decisions.
I have a 2-time bite history that required stitches over rough handling and restraint. However, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I am quite an interesting boy and my new person will need to learn my cues and listen to rescue advice on how to best handle me in different situations. I am very hard to read behaviour-wise, and I am a protector. Once I form a bond with my person, that person will never have to fear wrong-doing from anyone so long as I am with my person.
I know my basic obedience commands such as sit, down and come and I enjoy doing obedience with my foster mom. However, I can get a bit too worked up during our training sessions and get into a state of drooling and vomiting up water in anticipation of the treat. This is part of where my unpredictability comes from. I am also food and resource possessive with humans and other animals.
I am dog-friendly with most dogs, but some dogs just rub me the wrong way. A meet and greet will be required before I can go home with you for many reasons. Maybe even several meet and greets depending on how the first one goes. Any parties interested in me MUST be receptive to advice and be gentle with me as I do NOT respond well to reprimand or raised voices at all! Ideally, my person will be fairly local. My person MUST be experienced and understanding of my high bite risk!
I am neutered, microchipped, and dewormed. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Tundra
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 9.5 years
Cats: Maybe
Dogs: Yes
Kids: Yes
Hi again, it’s me, Tundra! I am now 9.5 years old and recently came back into care after 6 years in my previous adoptive home. Before that home, I had 1 previous adoptive home and my initial surrendering home. I am hoping for one last final forever home please! I am seeking a home where someone is home all of the time, or has another dog to keep me company.
When I initially came into rescue care back in 2017, I came in with my mom and we were very bonded together. Unfortunately, she has since passed away and I am flying solo now. As a result, my separation anxiety is pretty intense, which I know is what will be the main drawback in my finding a home I am also getting older and my hind end is giving out a little, so my mobility isn’t what it once was. I am also a bit on the chunky side, so with a diet and more exercise, my mobility should improve and bring some youth back. I also LOVE going anywhere with you, so going for drives with the AC blasting and window down would be another way to spend time together! I’m also totally content just lazing around the house as long as you’re with me to keep me company!
I am very well-behaved and am a velcro dog, so we will form a bond quickly. In fact, when my intial foster mom from 2017 picked me up a few weeks ago, I remembered her right away! I am currently fostering with one of my previous adopters, and remembered him, too. I am a very sweet and gentle boy with tonnes of love and affection to give! I love meeting new dogs and would love to have another dog in my home if possible please! I really miss my mom I may still be a bit depressed about her passing away 6 months ago, as I am not eating like I used to. I can be fussy, and only eat after exercise and with encouragement, such as you sitting beside me when I eat.
I am house trained, but am not crate trained. I am very loud when left alone for even a minute, so attached housing is likely not the best unless you are always with me or take me with you wherever you go. I am a bigger boy and may knock children over, but I am friendly with all ages. I may or may not be good with cats, so if I am to be with a cat, it would have to be a dog-savvy cat and an experienced owner.
I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations, and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you and become your best companion in my golden years!

Name: Wilson
Breed: Siberian Husky X
Sex: Male
Age: 6 years
Cats: No - untested
Dogs: Yes - submissive only
Kids: No
Hi there, the name is Wilson! I am described as a loyal, loving and affectionate boy and I am looking for a forever home without small kids. Wilson will do well in a household with experience understanding dogs that were previously abused due to his experience when he was younger.
I love going for walks, or any kind of adventure with my human. Car rides, walk, jog, snowshoe, hike? I will happily go with you! I adore human companionship and love people once the trust is built between us. I am leary of new people sometimes, in particular men. I was a very scared and timid dog, however I have come a long way since my current family rescued me from Northern Ontario in 2018. Once I trust you, I am the sweetest most affectionate, endearing and empathetic dog you will ever meet.
However, I am known to panic when people approach me too quickly and energetically. It is suggested to introduce me to new people at a slow pace and with care as I still have fear based triggers from my earlier life. I do have 1 bite history previously as a result of this, as I was scared and was defending my loved ones. I will not be placed in a household with small kids as I am pretty unpredictable. I have been kept away from kids in my current home, as sudden touches and jumping do scare me.
I also love canine companionship. Like a typical husky, I play rough and sometimes it could be loud. However, I am known to be comfortable with other dogs once I settle down. While I love going on adventure with you, I am also pretty flexible in the house, either indoor or outdoor. If you’re an outdoor person camping or enjoy the beaches, I will definitely be your new best friend! I am very vocal and enjoy either a group howl or communicate with you all the time, so a detached house would be ideal. I am house trained, but am not crate trained. I am, however, fine in the home for a full work day without getting into mischief.
I have never lived with a cat, but do display a prey drive when I go on a walk. Let's stick with a household without a feline friend to avoid any accidents. While I have never had any formal training, my family think I am actually quite intelligent! I know many commands like sit, stay, come, lay down and am always patient upon food time. I even walk well on leash, and respond to reminders to heel! I really am a good boy, I just need the right home please!
I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations, and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Yorick
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 5.5 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Selective
Kids: Yes, older
Hey, my name is Yorick, and I was born on December 9 2016. I am here seeking a rural, more northern home that can provide me lots of space to explore safely within a fence, and can offer me the comfort of being the only dog. I need an active home that can provide 2 hours of exercise a day, as well as love and affection.
I am very loving and love to snuggle! I will snuggle forever! I also love to learn new tricks and commands, so we should be able to form a bond very quickly through training. I do know my basic commands already as well. I sort of worship you, as I bow to my human every morning. I love to have zoomies, but I get very carried away in doing this. I have bruised people in my jumping up and grabbing. I don’t mean to hurt you, but this is definitely something I need to work on! This is the reason I will not be placed in a home with young children.
As I grew up as a baby puppy on a reservation and had encounters with aggressive dogs, I am not great at socializing with other dogs. I love to be with humans however! I will follow you around, including escaping just to get to you. In fact, I kept breaking into the school my owner was working at when I was just a wee baby! SO, he adopted me to save my life as the community was going to euthanize me for this trait Another part of my bond to humans, is that I have some separation anxiety, and get destructive when I am home alone. I am crate trained though, which helps with this, and I am able to be left alone for 6 hours a day. Even though I am destructive, I am quiet.
I am active, and need exercise in order to stop my inappropriate play style and bruising people. I have been trained to pull weight in a harness, but would need a refresher. This, or other harness activities would be an excellent way to help me with my energy and also work my brain. Perhaps we can do bike-joring as a means of exercise, or I can help haul the wood!
I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations and I have been microchipped. I am ready to go!

Name: Zeus
Breed: Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 5.5 years old
Cats: Yes
Dogs: Yes
Kids: Yes
Hello. My name is Zeus, and I am the Husky mix you’ve been waiting for. Just wait until you hear how amazing I am. My birthday is July 1, 2017, so I am 5 years old going on 6 years old. Wouldn’t you love to celebrate with me? In my opinion I am the perfect age. Like my breed is known to be, I can be outgoing, smart, friendly, and I am said to be quite affectionate. I am said to be very fond of playing with little dogs and cats, but I do like to chase a squirrel or two, so if you want me to live with a cat they have to be very dog-savvy. I am said to be good with kids, but given how much I love attention and affection from humans that isn’t surprising.
My current family loves me very much but they want someone who can give me more time. I spent approximately 10 hours alone each day, so it would be great if I had someone who I could spend more time with. Someone I can share all of my affection with. I would really appreciate a fenced yard or somewhere secure that I can run. I really love to run. I am good with other dogs, but I am not a fan of dominant dogs. I do love to have a good conversation so I can talk but I am not a barker, which is a plus right?
What else can I tell you about me? I am said to be well trained, and house trained. I enjoy a good routine and have not had any bad experiences with people. I also enjoy trips to the dog park, but I can get distracted easily. I really enjoy smelling things and following my nose too. My current family is hoping that I can find the perfect forever home for me, so that I can socialize and live my best life. They know that I am a pretty great catch. Are you the right family for me?
Given that I am good with dogs, cats, and children, I don’t anticipate being available for too long, so don’t delay! Get your application in today and bring me home to be with your family! I promise that you won’t regret bringing me home and welcoming me into your family to give you all of the love and affection for many years to come! I am not even an escape artist, so I will be a fairly easy addition into just about any home!
I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations, and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you now!
