Name: Beau
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 2.5 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Selective
Kids: Yes
Hi there, my name is Beau and I am 2.5 years old. I am here seeking a home that will let me be inside or outside as I see fit. I need a fenced in yard please as I am an escape artist and have previously been hit by a car (thankfully, I am ok!).
I am a pretty typical husky! I am very smart, and am not overly treat motivated. I do know some basic commands, but need to work on my leash walking skills and my recall. Being a smart boy though, it should be fairly easy to train me once you figure out ways to work around my intelligence and stubbornness. I would love to learn under your guidance, and possibly the guidance of a trainer.
I am house-trained and crate trained! I typically eat my breakfast and my dinner in my crate. My 3 sisters and I do not share food bowls, so I am not sure how I would be if that was asked of me. I don’t show any sign of food aggression while outside, so I might be able to adapt to that in time. I do like to dig holes when I am outside, and am destructive if left alone inside the house and not in a crate.
I live with 3 female dogs, and have not been interacted with any male dogs, so I have no idea how I would be with a male dog. A meet and greet would be required with any prospective new family pets to ensure we get along. Please, no cats. I live with children and am good with them, so I can be with children!
I currently live as an indoor/outdoor dog, and my family believes I would thrive best in this type of arrangement. I am inside at night, and in a barn during the work day. I then get time in the yard to run around with the other dogs, or inside the house if it is not a work day. I think with a bit of adjustment, and enough exercise, I could adapt to full-time house life, though!
If you think you are able to provide a stimulating environment for a husky, please apply for me today!
I am neutered and up to date on all of my vaccinations. My adopter will be provided with an already registered microchip to have inserted by their veterinarian as I am not yet microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Hi Melissa,
I am forwarding information about Benji - the Sibe that has been with us since June last year when he was found as a stray and not claimed. We estimated him to be around a year+ then, had him neutered and he has been up for adoption.
He is a fun, active, smart adolescent. He is pushy and can be mouthy and can guard food. He is ok with other dogs but is a hard player so some dogs don't appreciate him. Once he is worn out, he is a lot easier to be around (guess that's any).
He isn't a dog that makes you uncomfortable or comes across as aggressive, but he is good at getting out of things he does not want to do.
I have attached the information our dog trainer created for our volunteers to handle him. It is from September, so he has made progress in training.
If you think there is any way you could help or if you have a suitable foster placement for him, let me know. This guy will be a blast for someone with some experience, but is a handful and really needs the routine and consistency of a home.
Located in a GTA Shelter.
Can be transported to foster placement, or met at shelter.
$500 adoption fee once in foster and assessed, and officially made available for adoption
Name: Comet
Breed: Siberian Husky Mix
Sex: Male
Age: 1.5 Years
Dogs: Yes - selective - MANDATORY
Cats: No
Kids: No
Hi there, my name is Comet, but I don’t know my name yet. I am estimated to be around 1.5 years old. I am here seeking a specific home that is willing and able to put in the work required. It would be best if I lived in an apartment or condo environment and with someone that is almost always home. I also MUST have at least one other dog in the home.
You see, I am not a fan of humans. I don’t know a whole lot about what happened in my past, or how I ended up stray for over a month and then in a shelter for over a month, but I do know that humans are not my favorite things. I need to go through an intense several months of umbilical training to learn that humans are not as scary as I believe they are. I do believe that I grew up in a pack of dogs as I really gravitate towards dogs and settle down when I am around them - after playtime that is!
I would do best in a home with a female dog that understands, tolerates, and likes to engage in rough play as that is all I know. As I have been settling into my temporary placement, I have made it apparent that I am not a huge fan of male dogs - likely because they mistake my play style as aggression. I may get better with male dogs after my neuter, but it is not a guarantee.
I do not believe I am aggressive towards humans, but I would likely defend myself if pushed too far. I was a very good boy for my microchipping, and as much as I was not a fan of my first bath and groom, I did well all things considered. I try to avoid humans at all costs, but am very slowly starting to show interest in humans as long as they ignore me and do not try to engage. This is why I need a rigorous course of umbilical training.
I am not fully house trained as I will urine mark if left loose in the house, but if I am on a leash to you, I don’t try to pee indoors. I am crate trained, but can be loud and fussy on occasion when I am left alone in the crate, both at night and during the day. So far, there does not seem to be a reason for these random tantrums in my crate, but they are eased if I am crated in the room with my human at night.
As I will actively try to escape at any point in time, it is absolutely imperative that I be leashed at all times both inside and outside, for at least several months. Ideally, forever as I could revert back at any time. Housing where I have to go for walks with my humans as opposed to being let loose in a fenced yard will be more productive to my rehabilitation. I would be best in an apartment/condo to reduce my escape risk and enhance my rehabilitation. However, homes with a fenced yard will be considered on a case-by-case basis.I do absolutely love ATV’s, so having one is an asset if you have a yard!
I know I am going to be a bit of a challenge for my new human, but I promise I am worth it! I am just starting to show a bit of a bratty personality, so it will be really rewarding for you to see my personality develop!
I am up to date on my DHPP vaccination and microchipped. I will be adopted on a strict non-breeding and neuter contract to be completed once I am more established in your home.

Name: Jagger
Breed: Siberian Husky x Collie
Sex: Male
Age: 10 years old
Cats: No
Dogs: No
Kids: No
Well, hello there. My name is Jagger, and I am a Husky x Collie. I am in need of an experienced home where I am the only pet, and ideally a rural setting where there are not a lot of interactions with other animals.
I am not an escape artist, and I am house trained. I am also used to being able to be both indoors and outdoors in an enclosed space, of course. I am looking for my perfect forever family. Once I am bonded to you, I am very loving and loyal to my person.
I need a home with someone who can take me for a good walk or two and play with me. I am an older guy, but very energetic!!! I am incredibly smart and willing to learn and please. I do need someone who can commit time and energy to me and my training. Someone who can read and understands body language would be the most ideal as well. I love to lay on my doggie bed after I have had my daily exercise and just chill out. I do like to bark, so no attached housing please! I do have some important other quirks we need to discuss.
I will go after animals without provocation due to my dog reactivity. This has, unfortunately, resulted in many bites to humans due to redirecting when I am reached for. I also have handling sensitivities around my hips, which can lead to a bite if you don’t read and respond to my warning signs appropriately. I am very good at being muzzled for my medicated baths and just any type of restraint/handling that needs to be done. However, like anything else, that requires a trust bond first. Please, no kids, dogs or cats in my home. I did make a doggie-friend short-term, but I blew that with resource guarding, which I also do with humans as well.
I am very food driven, but am gentle about taking my food. I catch on to routine quickly and am very smart! I do need to work on my leash walking manners, and I need to learn not to jump up on people and stick my dewclaws in their legs. With the right person, I will be an amazing addition to an active home! As you can see by my coat, I do have an autoimmune condition and seasonal as well as dietary allergies. I do best on a brand called Forza-10, or a raw meat diet.
I am neutered and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you now!

Breed: Siberian Husky Mix
Sex: Male
Age: 2 Years

My name is Juneau and I’m believed to be about 2 years old. I don’t quite know my name well enough to respond to it yet because it’s new to me.
You see I was found as a starving stray with no info and in desperate need of many good meals. I was nothing but skin and bones but that’s all behind me now and I’m ready for a fresh new start! I am still working on gaining weight, but it is coming along nicely. I am not a glutton for food, but rather a gentle eater.
I am a fun loving, happy guy who gets along great with my canine foster brother and sister. I am house trained and crate trained and I behave very well in the house. Although admittedly, my foster sister and I can get the occasional evening “zoomies” together but I listen well so when I’m told to stop, I can settle quickly. As I get up to a more ideal weight, I will get even more energetic I am quiet in the home, and also crate trained (though I am a bit fussy/noisy for the first 20 minutes or so). I am house trained. I saw a cat on a walk and I think my prey drive is a bit too high to live with a feline friend.
I’m young and energetic and I love getting outside so I would benefit from being in an active home that can let me be part of the action! I know basic commands like sit and down and I’m working on learning my name and indoor recalls. I travel well in the vehicle and absolutely love receiving attention from humans of all sizes!
Even though I was clearly starving when I came into care, I have shown no signs of food guarding. As a precautionary measure, my foster mom sets me up for success by not feeding me too close to my foster siblings. I eat politely and I even take treats from the hand like a real gentleman!
Happy! Did I mention that I’m happy? My foster mom says I am so happy that my smile melts the heart of everyone that meets me! I just have an absolue charm about me, and I simply cannot believe that anyone would let me get into such a bad condition physically I don’t let my past affect me at all though! I am an absolute sweetheart and I would love to be your sweetheart!
I am up to date on my DHPP vaccination and microchipped. My neuter and rabies vaccination is booked for December 12 in Kitchener, once of a healthy weight. I have a back-up appointment booked in January as well, just in case I am not healthy enough by December.

Name: Maverick
Breed: Siberian Husky Mix
Sex: Male
Age: 2.5 Years
Dogs: No
Cats: No
Kids: Yes, older
Hello Everyone! I am Maverick!. I am estimated to be about 2.5 years old. I was found on the streets as a stray and ended up in a shelter. So not much of my past is known. I am here seeking a forever home with a fully-fenced yard or that will keep me secured so that I don’t run away again!
I am new to domestic life and will need a family willing to commit to training. I have only been with my new foster family for a week and a half and have just started to learn basic manners. I am eager to learn and pick up new commands quickly. I am a little underweight so extra treats for training would speed up the process, but I will also do anything for a belly rub! I weighed in at only 18kg at the vet, so I am not a large boy! Good things come in small packages, as they say!
I love riding in the car, and am almost fully crate trained. I’m still working on the command to go in the crate. I have no separation anxiety, which is a big bonus! I come out of my crate eager to please and will give kisses. I am just the friendliest boy with humans! I have not formally met children, but I believe I will be fine with older children as I am very affectionate and haven’t shown any aggression towards humans. I have not tried to bite anyone yet, but I don’t like my tail to be touched. A meet and greet will be required just to be safe.
I am so excited to go for walks, but need to be introduced slowly and in a controlled manner to other dogs. I was a stray so I have not learned how to interact with new dogs yet. I am currently living with 2 other dogs in my foster home and learning that they are not the enemy! With time and patience, I believe I can overcome this bad habit of growling at other dogs. I just need someone to believe in me! Please, no cats. I have a high prey drive. I am looking for a pet-free home for now, unless my new person is as experienced and patient as my wonderful foster family at helping me learn about dogs and socialize better.
I am a fast learner. In the week and a half since I have been here, I have learned to Heel, and Sit on command. We are also working on Leave it, and Down. Everyone that has met me has fallen in love with me, and I just want to cuddle all the time, but I need an Alpha to guide me in correct behaviours and not let me run wild around the house. I will need to be leashed for the first few weeks while I learn my place in your home.

Name: Poncho
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Age: 1 year
Sex: Male
Cats: No
Dogs: Yes
Kids: Yes, Older
Hello! I am Poncho and I am a one year old super sweet and friendly husky mix boy that’s still filled with lots of puppy energy. I am so special that I have two different colour eyes (heterochromia) - one blue and one brown. I am a tall guy but still very thin, weighing approximately just over 60 lbs. I am here seeking an active forever home where someone is home more often than not.
I enjoy going on walks and I get excited when I pass other dogs and humans, I want to say hi to everyone! I am still learning leash manners and like to pull but when it is just me and my foster mom I pull a lot less than when my foster sister (dog) comes along too. When she is with me, I want to lead the group and get in front. I sometimes get excited when I see squirrels and other animals and I pull toward them.
I also enjoy running around in the backyard and playing with my dog toys. Sometimes my foster sister joins me in playtime and I love playing with her!! However, I do play a little bit rough with her and like to use my mouth a lot. I really like to wrestle and I sometimes bodycheck her and shove my head under her belly to lift her up. She has lots of patience for my crazy play but some dogs may not like it. Sometimes I don’t understand when she wants play to be over so my foster mom has to remind me to leave her alone.
When it comes to my crate, I get so happy when I am let out of the crate but sad when I’m put in it. Sometimes it takes many yummy treats and some time (and patience for my foster mom), until I go inside it. I will cry, and sometimes but rarely, bark, when I first get in but I do eventually settle down and sleep. I am still in the process of learning to like my crate but I definitely rather be outside of it sleeping on my dog bed or floor than inside of it. I am a smarty pants and have already learned to escape my crate. My foster mom had to put zip ties around the wires to make sure I can’t escape again. Once I escaped, I only tore apart some of a cardboard box and didn’t get into or chew anything else in the room.
I am fully potty trained and I know the basic commands of Sit and Paw. I sometimes come when I am called. I am still learning the words Down and learning (and doing well at it) to have patience and to wait, when doors are being open or when I am being fed or given treats. My foster mom thinks I am a very very sweet boy. I love pets from her and when she stops petting me, I like to gently remind her that I am still there by giving her my paw. I am a little love bug and love to be around the humans. I have tried to go on her bed but when she told me off and redirected me, I was okay with hanging out on the floor. Sometimes I talk back to my foster dad and give him a whole husky spiel when he tries to tell me what to do. I guess I like to argue with words sometimes.
I have not met kids yet since being with my foster family, but I do get excited when I pass them on walks and my foster mom thinks I would be friendly with them. I have lots to offer but also still have learning to do and I can’t wait to do that with my new forever family. I am very very energetic and still working on my manners, so older kids would be best please so that I don’t accidentally knock little ones down.
I am neutered, up to date on my DHPP and Bordetella vaccinations and microchipped. I am ready to go home!

Name: Shadow
Breed: Siberian Husky x Alaskan Malamute
Sex: Male
Age: 6.5 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Selective
Kids: No
Hi there, I’m Shadow and I am about 6.5 years old. I am seeking an experienced forever home, so please read carefully. I am said to be a Siberian Husky, but I have a lot of Malamute traits, so, I must be a mix of the two! I am also fairly large as well!
I need exercise, routine, patience and understanding to allow me to feel safe enough to be myself. You see, I have a hard time trusting humans as they have let me down in
the past. This fear shows in some of my strange and bizarre biting triggers. Within my foster home I have grown immensely and am thriving. We have established an understanding of what I need to avoid these strange triggers. For example, I do not like it when you use your hand to wipe the floor or start to clean. I much prefer to be safe in a closed room while the cleaning is completed.
I find comfort in routine and love to go for long walks so I can explore. I also live for car rides. Any time I can jump in I will show you to the car! I am crate trained, house trained, and muzzled trained. I am not good with children or cats as they are unpredictable. Some dogs seem to scare me, and if I see another dog as a threat, I will try to lunge at them or try to beat them up. I can be quite reactive on the leash with other dogs and need a pet-free home please. I do seem to love all people and will greet everyone as a friend. I am highly food motivated and I will do just about anything for food. I even try to anticipate in hopes of pleasing someone just enough to indulge in a treat. However, due to my odd triggers, I need a child-free home please!
I know my basic obedience commands and am excellent at waving to you to get your attention. I used to be a sled dog, but I am not a fan of that job and have adapted very well to pet life. I am a sweet boy; you just need to work around my quirks and understand me. How am I still in rescue after over 2 years?! I had the same foster for 2 years, an adopter for a week, and am now in boarding. I was too dog-reactive for my adopter and pulled him down, injuring his knee. However, I don’t feel that I am truly THAT bad. I am not a huge fan of grooming however and will get snappy during the drying process, so please make sure my groomer is experienced and prepared with a muzzle.
I am neutered, up to date on all of my vaccinations, and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Spencer
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 5.5 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Selective
Kids: No
Hi there, I’m Spencer and I am about 5.5 years old. I am seeking an experienced forever home with a fence at least 5ft high, so please read carefully. I need exercise, structure, rules and training, so please be prepared to give me what I need! My forever home must have experience with resource guarding.
I have the most expressive ears! My ears are always moving up and down and begging for you to give me any attention at all! Even just talking to me makes me a happy little boy. I will also lean in for cuddles and snuggles once I know you. It is extremely important to never fully trust me though, even though I am sweet and want your affection. I warm up to new people quickly, but can be stand-offish and/or growl initially if meeting through a fence. I have bitten on a first introduction once, and I need to be with a very understanding and experienced person. I am more oriented towards women, but have accepted one man.
I found myself in the shelter due to guarding strange people from entering my previous home, but only from the front door. In the shelter, I showed no guarding issues of this sort and was even fine with meeting dogs through my kennel. However, here in boarding, I have growled and lunged at every human that has approached my kennel. When I am outside of my kennel, I am a lot less reactive. A meet and greet will be required if I am to live with other dogs. I have a high prey drive for the cat, so no cats please! I cannot be with children!
I do have a bite history over a tissue that I wanted being held too long for my liking, and multiple times have mouthed and nipped/snapped, breaking the skin. I did spend 2 months in an apartment and can do it again if I get adequate exercise! I give lots of warning if you know how to read me, but not everyone can. As a result, I have bitten multiple people now. I have been returned twice now for biting Please be patient and understanding so that I am not returned again! I excite very easily, which is why I have little inhibition to not use my mouth. If I have a bone in my mouth, I will growl and turn away so you cannot take it from me. I love my dinner so much that I bounce up and down until I am served, and will guard it while I am eating. I will sit for a moment before my dinner bowl heads towards the floor, and am working on sitting longer before being fed. I am not good on a tether as I tangle myself a lot, and will bite when you are trying to help me in my panic.
I cannot emphasize enough that I need a special, experienced, and dedicated person to help me through my reactivity and guarding behaviours. Once we have a trust and understanding, I am a great boy! However, it is likely to be a rough go for the first few weeks as we establish routine and boundaries. I am one of the more difficult dogs at the rescue and have been looking for a home for over 2.5 years now!
I am neutered and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Storm
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 5 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Maybe
Kids: No
Hi there, I’m Storm and I am 5 years old. I am seeking a new home where I am not around children and with experienced people who are used to resource guarding behaviours.
I am used to being a house pet, and can be left alone for 6/7 hours without any trouble provided that food is put away and garbage/recyling is not accessible. I am very house trained and am crate trained. I like to go for my daily long walks and to spend time with my family. I like to play ball with my family, especially if we are outside and there is snow on the ground! I love peanut butter, so muzzle training me should be a breeze! I am very curious and smart, as well as loyal and protective of my family. I am also quite protective of my stuff, or stuff I think is mine.
When I moved into my last family, I was allowed on the couch and in the bed, but they realized that when it's time for me to move away, I don't like to give space and can be challenging. Therefore, I am not allowed on those anymore. On a day to day basis, I am a really quiet dog. I do not require lots of exercise, and as long as I got my daily walk, I am happy! If it's time for my walk and you forget me, I will make sure you know with my own language that I need to go outside and explore! I like to play ball and I love tug of war. Be ready; I don't let go!! I was not much into staying outside by myself, but as the nice weather is coming out I like to relax in the my fenced yard and get a tan. I do not bark unless I feel a threat or am in an anxious state, but I like to howl and will be incredibly loud and reactive to a passing cat, squirrel, etc. I am a really smart dog. I do obey basic obedience commands. I will anticipate everything you are going to ask from me for some treats or peanut butter At first I might be distant, but as soon as I get to know and trust you, I become an affectionate dog. I love belly rubs too.
I have bitten several times I dislike children and cats, and I am a resource guarder. I will bite if I feel you are taking my stuff, or stuff I perceive as mine. I like to hide toys in places like the couch, and if you unknowingly go for it, I will bite you. I am sorry, but it is mine! I have also bitten a good samaritan who caught me by my collar when I door dashed out of my previous adoptive home. If you can read dog body language, it is easier to determine when certain handing, like collar grabbing/holding, will become an issue. I am otherwise good for light petting/handling. I tried to see a veterinarian however, and I was not having any part of that. I got sent home without being examined because I was anxious, uncomfortable, and acting aggressively. I need to be muzzle trained before I see a veterinarian again. I am absolutely not a fan of restraint of any kind, and am very skeptical of a muzzle coming near my face, especially when you try to do it up! Like I said, I am smart! I need more positive associations with the muzzle! I have not been well-socialized with other dogs in the past, and as a result, I would do best without another dog until I am more settled, trained, and we have established a connection.
I am neutered and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Tilap
Breed: Siberian Husky Mix
Sex: Male
Age: 6-7 Years
Dogs: Yes
Cats: No
Kids: Yes, older
Hey again everyone, it’s me, Tilap! I am now called T-rey though. I am back in rescue care after being adopted 5 years ago. I had to be returned through absolutely no fault of my own. I am here seeking my forever home once again and would do best in a house with a fenced yard to let me run!
I am great with other dogs and humans of all sizes, so I think I should find a home relatively quickly, however, I haven’t had any interest at all yet, and that makes me really sad :( I do have a high prey drive, so need a home without cats please. I do well with everyone else, but I am over-friendly and knock littles down though! I do need a refresher on my basic obedience commands and to learn leash manners as I pull very hard on the leash and am a big boy!
I am currently more medium energy, but once I lose the 50 extra pounds I am carrying around, I will be my typical high energy self that I once was! I absolutely love to be loved on and to run (though I can’t much right now). I do not try to escape fenced yards in my current condition. I do exhibit some separation anxiety when you walk away from me, but I settle relatively quickly. I am just loud for a few minutes when I am left, and periodically when I want some attenntion. I am likely not best in attached housing, unless neighbours are pet-friendly.
I am a big foodie and am food motivated, but as I am on a very strict diet and exercise program currently, I am being stubborn about listening since I am not getting all the treats I think I should have. I am a door barger, and use my extra large size to my advantage. I am easy to handle however and don’t try to harm you in any way, so it is not too bad to correct me and put me back on the other side of the door. The only time I hate being restrained, is during anything to do with grooming. My nails are currently extremely overgrown and I throw an absolute tantrum anytime the clippers come out. I have had 3 nails done over the last 2 weeks so far, and will soon have them all done. I am not a huge fan of baths or brushing either. I do need to be muzzled for anything to do with grooming as I get a bit over the top with my mouthing.
While I do have a friend, Tucker, it is not necessary that I be adopted with him. However, if you want 2 dogs that get along well together, then you can take us both home together if desired!
I am neutered and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

***FOSTER NEEDED OR SHELTER ADOPTION***
Location: Keswick, ON
Name: Timber
Breed: Shepherd/ Husky Mix
Weight: 24.6kg
Gender: Male
Spayed/Neutered: Neuter
Age: 4 years old
Reason for Intake: Surrender
Medical: No medical concerns
Good with Dogs: I can be anxious, nervous and potential territorial around other dogs, for the time being I’d prefer being the only canine in the home
Good with Cats: - I've lived in a home with cats though as I can be nervous and unsure of new things I would benefit with a slow calm introduction
Good with Kids: - I’m cautious around new things, with a slow calm introduction at my pace I could be their biggest cuddle buddy.
Good with Strangers: Has been okay with meeting new staff and park staff.
Behaviour: Resource guarding with high value toys and food, while on a walk to the beach he tends to go after vehicle tires.
House Trained: not 100% house trained
Crate Trained: enters kennel willing
Destructive: Timber can be destructive with blankets while in his kennel and will rip plush toys apart
Energy Level: High
Leash Skills: Pulls on a leash for the first few minutes of the walk then relaxes
Sensitivity/Medical manipulation: Does not do well with hands on manipulation, he is more sensitive with his rear end being touched (when you are out of his viewing sight)
Known Commands: Sit & down
Food on now: Royal Canine Medium Breed Dry/ Royal Canin Digestive Wet
Background History: Timber came to the shelter originally as a stray, his owners were located, and they ended up surrendering him as they were not able to take him back in their care due to financial reasons. Timber spent a lot of time during the day laying in the front yard tethered to a tree as he was a flight risk, and they did not have a fenced in yard. Timber has been around children ages 6-11 years old there was also a cat in the home that he did well with however he did chase it at times. Due to his known behaviour and what he has exhibited at the shelter we believe that Timber would be bested suited in a home with older children and no other animals as he does a high prey drive. Timber loves to spend the majority of his time outdoors enjoying the summer breeze and basking in the sun
Name: Tobi
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 7 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Yes
Kids: No
Hey there, I’m the super adorable Tobi! I was born on October 13 2016. After 5.5 years in rescue rehabilitation care, I think I am ready to search for my extra special home. I need a home where there are absolutely no children and a very experienced owner. I am very selective on who I accept to be my person, but I am opening up to more and more people the longer I am with my foster mom.
When I am out in public with foster mom, I am always wearing my basket muzzle. When I am in my muzzle in public, I love to receive all sorts of affection, belly rubs, and cuddles. I feel secure and safe in my muzzle, however when I am not muzzled, I am know I am not trustworthy and I make poor decisions.
I have a 2-time bite history that required stitches over rough handling and restraint. However, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I am quite an interesting boy and my new person will need to learn my cues and listen to rescue advice on how to best handle me in different situations. I am very hard to read behaviour-wise, and I am a protector. Once I form a bond with my person, that person will never have to fear wrong-doing from anyone so long as I am with my person.
I know my basic obedience commands such as sit, down and come and I enjoy doing obedience with my foster mom. However, I can get a bit too worked up during our training sessions and get into a state of drooling and vomiting up water in anticipation of the treat. This is part of where my unpredictability comes from. I am also food and resource possessive with humans and other animals.
I am dog-friendly with most dogs, but some dogs just rub me the wrong way. A meet and greet will be required before I can go home with you for many reasons. Maybe even several meet and greets depending on how the first one goes. Any parties interested in me MUST be receptive to advice and be gentle with me as I do NOT respond well to reprimand or raised voices at all! Ideally, my person will be fairly local. My person MUST be experienced and understanding of my high bite risk!
I am neutered, microchipped, and dewormed. I am ready to go home with you!

Hello Everyone! My name is Tucker and I am roughly 10-11 years old. However, don’t let my age deter you! I am a really good boy and would love to have my very own forever home. I have had 2 homes already and find myself in rescue now through no fault of my own.
I am great with other dogs and humans of all sizes, so I think I should find a home relatively quickly, however, I haven’t had any interest at all yet, and that makes me really sad I do have a high prey drive, so need a home without cats please. I do well with everyone elses though! I do need a refresher on my basic obedience commands, but I did pass a course when I was younger. I am a bit strong on the leash, but should pick back up on that in no time as well!
I can be destructive when I am left home alone, so anything that I can chew needs to be put up high, or I need to be in my crate. I haven’t been alone or crated for a few years, so I will need a refresher on that as well. I do love to laze around on my bed or yours throughout the day though as well! I am house trained and good with grooming. In the boarding kennel, I am quiet and obedient, so I am hoping I would be quiet in the home as well. I should be just fine living in any living situation. I do not try to dig or climb fences to escape, but I am a bit of a door barger and really want to be out doing stuff with my people!
While I don’t think I can be described as high energy, I can certainly keep up with you on walks! I am a bit overweight and could stand to lose a few pounds, so going for walks together will not only help me lose weight, it will help us form a bond together as well. While I am overweight, I am a grazer with food. I am learning how to be on a set schedule though, and am doing well with that! I am not even too upset by my diet, as I think I know it is a good thing for me.
If you are looking for an easy-keeper, look no further and get that application in for me now!
While I do have a friend, Tilap, I do not have to be adopted with him at all. However, should you be interested in adopting 2 dogs, we do get along really well together and would be good to stay together.
As an easy senior dog, I am eligible for the seniors for seniors program. Individuals 65+ do not have to pay for me - my fee will be sponsored by good samaritans!
I am neutered and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Wilson
Breed: Siberian Husky X
Sex: Male
Age: 6 years
Cats: No - untested
Dogs: Yes - submissive only
Kids: No
Hi there, the name is Wilson! I am described as a loyal, loving and affectionate boy and I am looking for a forever home without small kids. Wilson will do well in a household with experience understanding dogs that were previously abused due to his experience when he was younger.
I love going for walks, or any kind of adventure with my human. Car rides, walk, jog, snowshoe, hike? I will happily go with you! I adore human companionship and love people once the trust is built between us. I am leery of new people sometimes, in particular men. I was a very scared and timid dog, however I have come a long way since my current family rescued me from Northern Ontario in 2018. Once I trust you, I am the sweetest most affectionate, endearing and empathetic dog you will ever meet. I love nothing more than an evening snuggle with my humans.
Most of the time – I love meeting new people. However, I am known to react defensively if certain people approach me too quickly and energetically. It is suggested to introduce me to new people at a slow pace and with care as I still have fear based triggers from my earlier life. I do have 1 bite history previously as a result of this, as I was scared and was defending my loved ones. While I have grown up with two small kids since they were babies and have always accepted them as part of my pack, I would do best in a predictable home with older kids or only adults who understand me and what I need.My triggers are few and once you know what they are (strangers entering the home unexpectedly, a noisy trailer going by on a car, sometimes fast moving bicycles whizzing by closely on a walk)
I also love canine companionship. Like a typical husky, I play rough and sometimes it could be loud. However, I am known to be comfortable with other dogs once I settle down. While I love going on adventure with you, I am also pretty flexible in the house, either indoor or outdoor. If you’re an outdoor person camping or enjoy the beaches, I will definitely be your new best friend! I am very vocal and enjoy either a group howl or communicate with you all the time, so a detached house would be ideal. I am house trained, but am not crate trained. I am, however, fine in the home for a full work day without getting into mischief.
I have never lived with a cat, but do display a prey drive when I go on a walk. Let's stick with a household without a feline friend to avoid any accidents. While I have never had any formal training, my family think I am actually quite intelligent! I know many commands like sit, stay, come, lay down and am always patient upon food time. I even walk well on leash, and respond to reminders to heel! I really am a good boy, I just need the right home please!
I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations, and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!
