Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 1 year
Cats:No
Dogs: Yes
Kids: Yes, older
Hey there! I am the very adorable Ace! I am just a social young boy, and hope I will not be here too long! I am energetic since I am still young, so an active home is best for me please. I would prefer a home with another dog. I can be adopted with or without my mother, Maya. I am a pretty typical Siberian Husky.
I am great with other dogs, although I am vocal when I play. Younger, similar size dogs and more tolerant dogs would be best for me - ideally another husky! I grew up in a household with my 2 parents, so I am very comfortable with husky-style play. I am just a social butterfly with other dogs! I have not been around cats, but given my breed, I am likely best without cats please.
I LOVE all humans. I do have manners, but keep in mind that I am young and energetic, so I might accidentally knock little ones down. I do not mean harm - only love! I am a little weary of men, particularly quiet men, but I do warm up quickly and show no aggression towards anyone. I would need to meet my new family, including resident dogs to ensure a good fit.
I am in a boarding environment, so my assessment is as accurate as possible for that environment. I appear to be house trained, however I go to the washroom in my run overnight and also flip my bed over. I think I get anxious at night being alone; regardless of whether I am with my mom or not. I think I need to sleep in your room with you to help me with this. I have not yet been in a crate, but I should be crate trained to help me with the anxious pottying and also possible destructive behaviour when left unattended.
I would be best in a home with a fenced in yard to help me have the space and security needed to play with my friends and burn off this energy I have being a young husky! If my mom and I are adopted together, we don’t need existing dogs within the home, but if I am adopted by myself, I need another dog in my home please.
I am neutered, up to date on all of my vaccinations, dewormed, and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Baymax
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 3 years
Cats: Unknown
Dogs: Yes
Kids: No
Hey, my name is Baymax. I am white, just like Baymax from Big Hero 6. I respond to Max in my foster home though. I am a young busy boy and in need of a bit more training, so an active home is best. Ideally, some breed experience is best. I weigh approximately 70 lbs.
I am not an "Alpha", by I do try to be bossy especially when I am stressed. I am learning to "be gentle " but need someone who will be firm with the rules and boundries and be the leader. I am quick to learn what is expected of me, so this should be fairly easy. I don't like to have the door of my crate closed I stess out quite badly. Currently my food and water along with my dogbed are located in my crate so "I have my own space"; and the door is always open which works perfectly for me. I like to relax and nap in my crate throughout the day. I'm fine about sharing food, water and toys with other dogs, but I sometimes become stressed when people come near my kennel/den especially my food dish when I'm eating. I am not destructive and I am housetrained. At bedtime I prefer to sleep on the floor in your room or the bed if you let me.
My foster family says that I am an "early bird"; but who can sleep when the sun comes up? There is so much day to experience - no need to waste it in bed! I love to make new friends and get along with dogs of all sizes. I LOVE car rides; please take me on one with the window partly open. I love to smell the wind! I also really enjoy going on walks and will let you know when its time; 3 a day please! I walk great using my training collar. I really like to play in water and hope to find someone to go swimming with me. My favorite toy is a Tug toy; please play tug with me!
When it comes to grooming, I am very relaxed about having a bath & good with the hair dryer, ok with getting brushed, but not so much on my tail and I don't like having my nails done, but tolerate it. I am currently used to someone being home almost all of the time, so I am not sure how I would be in a home where all the humans are gone most of the day. I could likely adapt to it, but please be prepared for a transition period.
I am a very social boy. I like to stay where I can see my people. As I am originally from Florida, I am looking foward to experiencing SNOW for the first time this coming winter in my new forever home with you!
I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations, heartworm negative, and I have been microchipped. I am ready to go!

Name: Chihiro
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 4.5 years
Cats: Yes
Dogs: No
Kids: No
Hi! My name is Chihiro (Chi for short) and I have not had it easy in life. I am unfortunately seeking a new foster or adopter with someone who is always home and lives a low-key lifestyle. I was born on March 8 2018, so am 4.5 years old. There is not much known about my previous owners but they believe I used to be an outdoor dog and was not treated too nicely due to my anxiety. Then my current family adopted me and I have been with them for 2.5 years and it has been going great.
I still do have some issues from my previous life, I do not like being alone and will get destructive occasionally but it has been a lot better than before. When I get scared or anxious I still sometimes pee myself. I am sorry, I can’t control it but it also has gotten a lot better over the years since being with my current family! My family also helped me not be scared of strangers, especially men, whom I used to be terrified of when I first came into their care. Now I love attention from strangers, but can still get scared if they approach too quickly. It might take me a minute to get there due to my anxiety, but I am a love bug, all I want to do is cuddle on the sofa and lie at your feet at all times of the day. I am not crate trained as it made my anxiety worse.
I live with with two other huskies who it took me awhile to warm up to, but after that we have been inseparable and the best of friends. However, I would not say I am dog friendly. When I see a dog on my walks, I get scared and anxious and want to defend myself by barking and lunging. This has also improved over the years, with a lot of help from my family, as before I would attack dogs completely unprovoked just in case they first attacked me. However, there is still a lot of work to be done, I am still unable to come close to another dog during walks, which makes walking me difficult.
As much as my current parents love me, there is a new baby in the house and it has brought out my anxiety even more as now I have been trying to lunge and attack the baby. Often this is exactly like with the dogs I see outside, where it is unprovoked but I am just scared so that is my reaction, I have also lived with three cats who I have been amazing with. I am a lot better with cats than I am with dogs!
I know I come with a lot of baggage and it will not be easy especially at the start, but I have the biggest heart. I am extremely kind and all i want in life is to be loved. I am seeking to have a new foster/adopter lined up within the next 3 weeks in the event that training does not help me. I would like to have all bases covered and a home lined up!
I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations, and microchipped. I am ready to go!

Name: Creme Brulee
Breed: Alaskan Malamute mix
Sex: Male
Age: 6 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Yes - see description
Kids: No
Hi there, I am Creme Brulee, the very handsome malamute lad! I am estimated to be about 5 years old and I am seeking an adult only home with no cats and that does not use dog parks. I am a smart dog, but not a SMART dog. I am a courtesy listing, so please understand that inquiries and applications for me may be delayed and may not be approved by my rescue, but may be considered by SMART for one of their dogs!
I am seeking a malamute experienced home that can help me through my fears due to having a heavy-handed past. I also need a moderately active home 3 seasons out of the year, and a very active home in the winter. If you love to be outside playing in the snow, I would love you to be my human! I am looking for someone that can encourage me to gain confidence every day since it takes me a little bit to open up to new people. Please be patient with me - I come with some baggage!
I am generally a quiet boy, but in typical malamute fashion, I like to woooooo you. Everyone loves to be around me! Once I trust you, I love to give you shoulder hugs! It is just so cute, but you have to really be on my good books to be graced with my huggies. I also love to play fetch with my trusted people! Unlike those silly huskies, I actually bring the ball back! I will need someone that can keep up on my training, since I am a malamute afterall. Give me an inch, and I will take a mile!
I get along with most dogs as long as they are not rude and can respect me and give me my personal space when I ask for it. I do have a slight preference for females dogs, typical to my breed. I also have a preference for other northern breed dogs. I would like to share my home with a fellow malamute, or one of those little husky-things. A meet and greet will be required with any dogs I am to share my home with, just to be on the safe side. Please, no cats or children.
I have been searching for a home with my rescue for over a year now. Perhaps being posted with a breed-specific rescue as a courtesy post will help me find me forever home soon? I am neutered, fully up to date on all of my vaccinations, and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you! My rescue is Inugoya and can be reached at inu.goya@outlook.com, or you an submit an application on the SMART website and it will be forwarded to my rescue! Again, I am not a SMART dog and SMART is only courtesy posting me.

Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 1 year

Kids: Unknown
Hi! My name is Finn and I am the beautiful blue-eyed boy with the perky bow tie that you may have seen casually leaning out the car window or carrying my backpack on a hike. I was born on September 1 2021, so I am still a young, growing boy.
I am a big boy- 14 months old now and 70 pounds- but I am really quite good at walking on my leash with my gentle leader on. Sometimes I do pull in excitement though- those squirrels and rabbits are just asking for me to play with them!! I like going for walks and hikes and even chasing sticks in the water at the beach, but I also am really happy to snuggle on the couch with my human or settle on the floor for a nap. I will often ask my human to play with my toys, but can be directed to play with them on my own too.
I love being with my human!! I am happy to sleep with them on the bed or just in the room, if they are working nights, hang out on the couch or in the same room and go on errands in the car. It really upsets me when I get left alone and I can chew and destroy things because I am very anxious. I am trying medication and have had all the toys and games and exercise...but if I could find a home where the humans are around more often, or can take me to work with them, I would be very happy!!
I've gone to training classes and did very well! I can walk well on a leash, know to wait and to stay, sit, down, I am very happy to let you go through the door first and wait to be invited in. I know my recall commands and am sometimes so excited to come when called that I don't put the brakes on soon enough and blow right by you! My human does say that when I get excited my ears are painted on ornaments, but we are always working on that!
I can be picky about who I play with- kids are a bit scary, they do strange things and try to grab my face (because I'm so soft and handsome). I don't get along with some dogs- instantly submissive ones and puppies especially and my human says I can be a bully to them. So we watch out and are careful at the park if we don't know some of the other dogs. I know that I'm a handsome boy- everyone tells me, even strangers in cars at stoplights!- and I often think I should be the centre of attention. That means that sometimes if you aren't paying attention to me, I will jump up and put my paws on you. I'm a big boy, so this isn't ok and I am working at improving my manners here.
I would be a wonderful addition to a home that wants a smart, loving boy who can go on adventures with me and don't have to leave me alone for long.
I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations, and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Breed: Siberian Husky mix

Age: 1.5 years
Cats: Yes
Dogs: Yes
Kids: Yes
Hey, my name is Frost, and I will just give you chills with how perfect of a boy I am! I am young at around 1.5 years old, and I am seeking a forever home with someone who is home almost all of the time due to my separation anxiety. Someone with epilepsy experience would be a big asset as well, but is not totally necessary as my epilepsy is pretty mild.
If you don’t have experience with epilepsy but are seeking the most perfect boy and willing to handle my medical issues, then I am your boy! I am very sweet, gentle, loving, highly adaptable, and best of all, I have NO prey drive! I am excellent with cats and other dogs in my home. I don’t even mind if any creatures walk by outside! I am such a marshmallow - soft, white and made of sugar! Please apply to take me home!
I do have a couple of caveats besides my epilepsy that you should be aware of. I love to destroy toys, but never furniture. I am also very smart and driven for food. So much so, that I will do just about anything to get into the garbage at my foster home; and will also ensure the counters are free of food as well! It is a common side-effect of my medication - I am sorry! With that said, I am not super keen on eating my actual food. You need to exercise tough love and not give in to my pickiness. I will eventually eat my food if given no other choice.
I have a couple of medical issues you should be aware of as well, which is why I have a reduced adoption fee. I am unfortunately epileptic following a dosage of Simparica back in June I respond very well to my medication, but someone that has experience with seizures would be a big asset! I also have a smaller than usual “boy part”, so I have some issues with my “bits” becoming sore due to retaining urine in my sheath. I am getting better at learning not to incessantly bite at my “bits” due to the discomfort and my foster mom is applying cream from the vet to help as well. There is nothing that can be done about this problem, which started following my neuter surgery as a puppy
I could benefit from wearing a cone most of the time to help aide in not allowing me to have access to my “bits”, as well as someone willing to flush my “bits” out on a regular basis to help keep my hygiene in check. I will need more frequent vet visits than the average dog, so please be financially prepared before applying to bring me home!
I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations, and microchipped. I will be adopted to a home that will not provide any further vaccinations or flea/tick medications due to my epilepsy. I am ready to go!

Well, hello there. I know, I am a looker. I am a very handsome and fit guy. Aren’t I just so photogenic? My name is Jagger, and I am a Husky x Collie. I am in need of an experienced home where I am the only pet, and ideally a rural setting where there are not a lot of interactions with other animals.
I am not an escape artist, and I am house trained. I am also used to being able to be both indoors and outdoors in an enclosed space, of course. I am looking for my perfect forever family. Once I am bonded to you, I am very loving and loyal to my person.
I need a home with someone who can take me for a good walk or two and play with me. I am and older guy, but very energetic!!! I do have a limp in my back leg and hold it up, but it does not stop me from running for hours at all! I am incredibly smart and willing to learn and please. I do need someone who can commit time and energy to me and my training. I have been crated in the past, so that might be an option, but since I got off the plane, I have not wanted to go in it. I do like to bark, so no attached housing please! I do have some important other quirks we need to discuss.
My current family thinks I would do best in a home with no kids, and if possible, none living nearby. I will go after animals without provocation due to my dog reactivity. This has, unfortunately, resulted in many bites to humans due to redirecting when I am reached for. I also have handling sensitivities around my hips, which can lead to a bite if you don’t read and respond to my warning signs appropriately.
I am very food driven, but am gentle about taking my food. I catch on to routine quickly and am very smart! I do need to work on my leash walking manners, and I need to learn not to jump up on people and stick my dewclaws in their legs. With the right person, I will be an amazing addition to an active home! Please no cats - I see the cat every day and want to get ahold of her.
I am neutered, up to date on my vaccines and I am microchipped. I am ready to go home with you now!

Cats: No
Dogs: Large, submissive only

***ON INTAKE WAITING LIST - NEEDS FOSTER***
Yes I am really desperate to find a suitable foster for Max. He is not an outdoor dog, he is a couch potato! He can't live with cats or small dogs, but he accepts other big dogs. He has a preference for females, especially other Nordic dogs. He gets along with some males who are not reactive. He can be a bit bully, so overly fearful or submissive dogs are not ideal with him. He needs another dog that is robust and can impose himself. In his last foster home, he lived with a bossy female Husky and he respected her a lot.
He cannot live with young kids. He's housetrained, low to moderate energy, good guardian, can stay alone for a normal work shift with no crate, no anxiety. Very friendly with humans.
Name: Nayak

Hey over here! Over here! I’m Nayak and I recently celebrated my second birthday. I was born on November 28, 2020. I need a home with someone who can take me for long walks a couple of times a day and play with me. I would really like a fully fenced yard, too. I do have a touch of separation anxiety and whine when I am alone, zoI would do better in detached housing where my vocalizations are not as much of an issue.
Sadly, my people are concerned because of how rough I can play at times. I am not always aware of how much smaller the chihuahua is, so they feel it is best that I be in a home environment where these fears won’t exist. Therefore, my owners are sadly seeking a new home for me. So, if you are looking for a family loving pup and want to take care of a fur baby, I’m your guy! I am a pretty adaptable guy. Lots of playing please! If I get good exercise, I am a chill dude. I am house trained and crate trained and usually sleep there at night. I sometimes use my crate when my people leave for some time during the day. I am not said to be destructive either.
I am said to get on well with older kids. Since I can play rough at times, younger children aren’t recommended. I don’t have a bite history, which is great, but remember I am still a young dog, so I have to continue my training and learning my manners. I am said to be dog selective, so it is important that proper introductions are had, for future dog friends. I have also already proven that I am not great with little dogs. So, what about cats? Well, I do live with one, but given my breed and my age it is best that I am homed without a cat or at the most a very dog savvy cat. Remember I play rough.
I will do well with a clearly established routine. If you have kids, I will need to meet them first. A meet and greet will be required if I am to live with another dog to make sure we get along, as well. I am so young and have so much love to give. I would be a great addition to your household and family. I promise. Apply now! What are you waiting for?
I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations, and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you immediately!

Breed: Siberian Husky Mix
Sex: Male
Age: 5.5 years

Hello! I’m Ryder, I’m a 5.5 years old Siberian Husky Mix. I was born on April 28 2017. I am in need of an experienced home where I am the only pet and where I will be loved and well looked after. I’m a very sweet boy, keep reading!
I’m a relatively lazy husky compared to others, and love staying inside. I do have a backyard to run around in my current home, but I am not a very energetic husky afterall. I would still enjoy some walks and runs to let me sniff around and check things out on a daily basis though! I am on metacam regularly for my hips, as they are not great. This is probably part of why I am calmer than most siberians!
I am an attention seeker in the house, and love being part of the family. You see, I am a very loveable dog and love any attention I could get! However, I would push other animals out when I see them getting attention and therefore would be best in a new home as the only pet. I am however a super cuddly and kissy dog and love all humans, including kids! Any attention would make me a happy little boy, and I would enjoy some snuggles too!
I am house trained, and crate trained. With my mom back at work, I am now left alone at home approximately twice a week for 8 hours each day. When I’m home by myself, I’m usually crated and would settle in quickly. I have been muzzle trained for times when I interact with other dogs, and am a good listener! I am also very good with my commands like leave it, no, drop it, cage and sit. Except when you tell me to sit I would usually just lay down probably because of my lazy personality and hips!
So, what about cats? Well, I have always been protective of my family but was not as prominent with other pets. Unfortunately I fatally injured one of the kittens in the house recently, so it would be best for me to be in a home without a feline friend.
I am neutered, up to date on my vaccines and I am microchipped. I am said to have some hip issues and would need metacam daily to ease the medical concern. I am ready to go home with you now!

Name: Shadow
Breed: Siberian Husky x Alaskan Malamute
Sex: Male
Age: 5.5 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Selective
Kids: No
Hi there, I’m Shadow and I am about 5.5 years old. I am seeking an experienced forever home, so please read carefully. I am said to be a Siberian Husky, but I have a lot of Malamute traits, so, I must be a mix of the two!
I need exercise, routine, patience and understanding to allow me to feel safe enough to be myself. You see, I have a hard time trusting humans as they have let me down in the past. This fear shows in some of my strange and bizarre biting triggers. I have a behavior observation report that will be shared with chosen potential candidates as part of the full disclosure of this rescue. Within my foster home I have grown immensely and am thriving. We have established an understanding of what I need to avoid these strange triggers. For example, I do not like it when you use your hand to wipe the floor or start to clean. I much prefer to be safe in a closed room while the cleaning is completed.
I find comfort in routine and love to go for long walks so I can explore. I also live for car rides. Any time I can jump in I will show you to the car! I am crate trained, house trained, and muzzled trained. I am not good with children or cats as they are unpredictable. There are select dogs that I get along with, so I could do a meet and greet if my prospective home has another dog to see if it is an option. Some dogs seem to scare me, and if I see another dog as a threat, I will try to lunge at them or try to beat them up. If I am not threatened, I’m happy and excited with new friends. I do seem to love all people and will greet everyone as a friend. I am highly food motivated and I will do just about anything for food. I even try to anticipate in hopes of pleasing someone just enough to indulge in a treat.
I know my basic obedience commands and am excellent at walking on leash. I used to be a sled dog, but I am not a fan of that job and have adapted very well to pet life. I have been transferred in from another rescue, so I have a support network if my new family is in need of any assistance with figuring out my cues and triggers. I cannot believe that I have not had a single application or ounce of interest in the year I have been with the rescue! I am a sweet boy; you just need to work around my quirks and understand me.
I am neutered, up to date on my rabies vaccinations, and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you and start our new lives together!

Hi there, I’m Spencer and I am about 3.5 years old. I am seeking an experienced forever home with a fence at least 5ft high, so please read carefully. I need exercise, structure, rules and training, so please be prepared to give me what I need! My forever home must have experience with resource guarding.
I have the most expressive ears! My ears are always moving up and down and begging for you to give me any attention at all! Even just talking to me makes me a happy little boy. I will also lean in for cuddles and snuggles once I know you. I warm up to new people quickly, but can be stand-offish and/or growl initially if meeting through a fence. I have bitten on a first introduction once, and I need to be with a very understanding and experienced person. I am more oriented towards women, but have accepted one man.
I found myself in the shelter due to guarding strange people from entering my previous home, but only from the front door. In the shelter, I showed no guarding issues of this sort and was even fine with meeting dogs through my kennel. However, here in boarding, I have growled and lunged at every human that has approached my kennel. When I am outside of my kennel, I am a lot less reactive. A meet and greet will be required if I am to live with other dogs. I have a high prey drive for the cat, so no cats please! I cannot be with childre!
I do have a bite history over a tissue that I wanted being held too long for my liking, and multiple times have mouthed and nipped/snapped, breaking the skin. I did spend 2 months in an apartment and can do it again if I get adequate exercise! I give lots of warning if you know how to read me, but not everyone can. As a result, I have bitten multiple people now. I have been returned twice now for biting Please be patient and understanding so that I am not returned again! I excite very easily, which is why I have little inhibition to not use my mouth. If I have a bone in my mouth, I will growl and turn away so you cannot take it from me. I love my dinner so much that I bounce up and down until I am served, and will guard it while I am eating. I will sit for a moment before my dinner bowl heads towards the floor, and am working on sitting longer before being fed. I am not good on a tether as I tangle myself a lot, and will bite when you are trying to help me in my panic.
I cannot emphasize enough that I need a special, experienced, and dedicated person to help me through my reactivity and guarding behaviours. Once we have a trust and understanding, I am a great boy! However, it is likely to be a rough go for the first few weeks as we establish routine and boundaries. I am one of the more difficult dogs at the rescue and have been looking for a home for over a year.
I am neutered, up to date on all of my vaccinations, flea treated, and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Storm
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 4 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Maybe
Kids: No
Hi there, I’m Storm and I am 4 years old. I am seeking a new home where I am not around children and with experienced people who are used to resource guarding behaviours.
I am used to being a house pet, and can be left alone for 6/7 hours without any trouble provided that food is put away and garbage/recyling is not accessible. I am very house trained and am crate trained. I like to go for my daily long walks and to spend time with my family. I like to play ball with my family, especially if we are outside and there is snow on the ground! I love peanut butter, so muzzle training me should be a breeze! I am very curious and smart, as well as loyal and protective of my family. I am also quite protective of my stuff, or stuff I think is mine.
When I moved into my last family, I was allowed on the couch and in the bed, but they realized that when it's time for me to move away, I don't like to give space and can be challenging. Therefore, I am not allowed on those anymore. On a day to day basis, I am a really quiet dog. I do not require lots of exercise, and as long as I got my daily walk, I am happy! If it's time for my walk and you forget me, I will make sure you know with my own language that I need to go outside and explore! I like to play ball and I love tug or war. Be ready; I don't let go!! I was not much into staying outside by myself, but as the nice weather is coming out I like to relax in the my fenced yard and get a tan. I do not bark unless I feel a threat or am in an anxious state. I am a really smart dog. I do obey basic obedience commands. I will anticipate everything you are going to ask from me for some treats or peanut butter At first I might be distant, but as soon as I get to know and trust you, I become an affectionate dog. I love belly rubs too.
I have bitten several times I dislike children and cats, and I am a resource guarder. I will bite if I feel you are taking my stuff, or stuff I perceive as mine. I like to hide toys in places like the couch, and if you unknowingly go for it, I will bite you. I am sorry, but it is mine! I have also bitten a good samaritan who caught me by my collar when I door dashed out of my previous adoptive home. If you can read dog body language, it is easier to determine when certain handing, like collar grabbing/holding, will become an issue. I am otherwise good for light petting/handling. I tried to see a veterinarian however, and I was not having any part of that. I got sent home without being examined because I was anxious, uncomfortable, and acting aggressively. I need to be muzzle trained before I see a veterinarian again.
I haven’t met many dogs, but have met a few. Interactions went ok provided that the other dog didn’t start dominating or being aggressive towards me. A meet and greet will definitely be required if I am to live with another dog. If you have experience, please give me a chance!
I am neutered, up to date on all of my vaccinations, and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Wilson
Breed: Siberian Husky X
Sex: Male
Age: 6 years
Cats: No - untested
Dogs: Yes - submissive only
Kids: No
Hi there, the name is Wilson! I am described as a loyal, loving and affectionate boy and I am looking for a forever home without small kids. Wilson will do well in a household with experience understanding dogs that were previously abused due to his experience when he was younger.
I love going for walks, or any kind of adventure with my human. Car rides, walk, jog, snowshoe, hike? I will happily go with you! I adore human companionship and love people once the trust is built between us. I am leary of new people sometimes, in particular men. I was a very scared and timid dog, however I have come a long way since my current family rescued me from Northern Ontario in 2018. Once I trust you, I am the sweetest most affectionate, endearing and empathetic dog you will ever meet.
However, I am known to panic when people approach me too quickly and energetically. It is suggested to introduce me to new people at a slow pace and with care as I still have fear based triggers from my earlier life. I do have 1 bite history previously as a result of this, as I was scared and was defending my loved ones. I will not be placed in a household with small kids as I am pretty unpredictable. I have been kept away from kids in my current home, as sudden touches and jumping do scare me.
I also love canine companionship. Like a typical husky, I play rough and sometimes it could be loud. However, I am known to be comfortable with other dogs once I settle down. While I love going on adventure with you, I am also pretty flexible in the house, either indoor or outdoor. If you’re an outdoor person camping or enjoy the beaches, I will definitely be your new best friend! I am very vocal and enjoy either a group howl or communicate with you all the time, so a detached house would be ideal. I am house trained, but am not crate trained. I am, however, fine in the home for a full work day without getting into mischief.
I have never lived with a cat, but do display a prey drive when I go on a walk. Let's stick with a household without a feline friend to avoid any accidents. While I have never had any formal training, my family think I am actually quite intelligent! I know many commands like sit, stay, come, lay down and am always patient upon food time. I even walk well on leash, and respond to reminders to heel! I really am a good boy, I just need the right home please!
I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations, and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Yorick
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 5.5 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Selective
Kids: Yes, older
Hey, my name is Yorick, and I was born on December 9 2016. I am here seeking a rural, more northern home that can provide me lots of space to explore safely within a fence, and can offer me the comfort of being the only dog. I need an active home that can provide 2 hours of exercise a day, as well as love and affection.
I am very loving and love to snuggle! I will snuggle forever! I also love to learn new tricks and commands, so we should be able to form a bond very quickly through training. I do know my basic commands already as well. I sort of worship you, as I bow to my human every morning. I love to have zoomies, but I get very carried away in doing this. I have bruised people in my jumping up and grabbing. I don’t mean to hurt you, but this is definitely something I need to work on! This is the reason I will not be placed in a home with young children.
As I grew up as a baby puppy on a reservation and had encounters with aggressive dogs, I am not great at socializing with other dogs. I love to be with humans however! I will follow you around, including escaping just to get to you. In fact, I kept breaking into the school my owner was working at when I was just a wee baby! SO, he adopted me to save my life as the community was going to euthanize me for this trait Another part of my bond to humans, is that I have some separation anxiety, and get destructive when I am home alone. I am crate trained though, which helps with this, and I am able to be left alone for 6 hours a day. Even though I am destructive, I am quiet.
I am active, and need exercise in order to stop my inappropriate play style and bruising people. I have been trained to pull weight in a harness, but would need a refresher. This, or other harness activities would be an excellent way to help me with my energy and also work my brain. Perhaps we can do bike-joring as a means of exercise, or I can help haul the wood!
I am neutered, up to date on my vaccinations and I have been microchipped. I am ready to go!
