Hi, I’m Bo — a handsome heart-stealer on the lookout for my forever home, where I can give all the love I have (and trust me, it’s a lot). I am currently residing in an apartment, so any home time should work just fine for me!
I’m told I’m the sweetest, most affectionate boy around. I have a gentle soul and I thrive on being close to my humans. Whether we’re cuddling on the couch, I’m giving you kisses, following you from room to room, or just gazing up at you with my big, adoring eyes — I’m happiest when I’m by your side. I form deep bonds and I love hard. Once I know you’re my person, I’ll give you my whole heart — no questions asked.
I’ve got tons of love to give, but when it comes to other dogs, I might prefer being your one and only. I do get excited around smaller dogs, but my foster mom says we’d have to take it slow and see how I feel with proper introductions. Every dog is different, right? The shelter had noted that I am good with other dogs, however, that does not seem to be the case in foster care. Environments make a difference! I might be able to cohabit in time and with an experienced person.
I am not yet house trained, but I am working on it. As I am prone to stealing food and things I should not have, even right from you, and then I guard them, I am not suitable for a home with children. With my anxiety at first, and this trait, I am a bite risk, however, have not yet bitten. Also, crates and I just don’t mix. They make me really anxious. But don’t worry! I’ve never been destructive and I don’t chew on things I shouldn’t. When my foster mom leaves me alone, I usually just curl up in her bed and snooze until she gets back.
I’d be a great match for someone who loves routine and is willing to help me keep building confidence. I’ve got so much potential, and I know I can become the very best version of myself with the right person by my side. Once I am settled in and have learned the routine, my initial anxiety does drastically decrease.
I am neutered, up to date on all of my vaccinations, and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you now!

Name: Maverick
Breed: Siberian Husky Mix
Sex: Male
Age: 3.5 Years
Dogs: No
Cats: No
Kids: Yes, older
Hello Everyone! I am Maverick!. I am estimated to be about 3.5 years old. I am here seeking an experienced and secure home. I would be ok in just about any home environment as long as my owner is observant and cautious. I am looking to be the single-pet in your home.
Aren’t my ears just the cutest things you’ve ever seen? I think so! Along with my small size, at roughly 20kg, I am just adorable. I am also mostly well-mannered at home, which is a huge bonus. I have learned a lot of basic commands with my foster family, and have also been house and crate trained. I am treat motivated, so training me and continuing my training is fairly easy as well. I love to go for drives, and even walk well on leash. I can sometimes be grumbly when I am disturbed while sleeping, but aren’t you, too? I would be best with older kids that would have more dog-knowledge to not disturb a dog while it’s sleeping, eating, drinking, pottying, etc.
I am lower energy than most huskies, so I would be fine in a less active home as long as my training is continued. I walk well on the leash and have been to many crowded adoption events and done well! As a smaller, lower-energy boy, I would be fine in attached housing, or a home with a securely fenced yard. I do not try to jump, climb, or dig out, but will take an opportunity that is visible, such as an open gate, a gap, or an open door. Pretty typical husky-stuff! Despite my small size, I still require a firm owner. Perhaps an older, former malamute owner, would be great for me as I am smaller, but need that firmness.
While I do live with 2 dogs in my current foster home, I am not the greatest with other dogs and this took a lot of time and training from my foster. I also absolutely cannot live with small dogs or cats. Unfortunately, I was involved in the fatal injury of a small dog, in partnership with another dog, when a gate was left open at my foster home and got myself into some very serious legal trouble. I am not legally allowed to be rehomed in Ontario now due to court order, but can probably go out of Province.
I wish someone would look past my flaws and give me a chance! I know I am a good boy in the right hands and environment. Even before my incident, no one gave me a chance. That makes me so sad, as I know it will be even harder to find a willing candidate now!
I am neutered, up to date on rabies vaccination and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Rocky
Age: 6 years
Breed: Siberian Husky x Alaskan Malamute
Gender: Neutered male
Dogs: Yes
Cats: Yes
Kids: Yes
Looking for a loyal, gentle, and loving family companion? Rocky is ready to meet you! Rocky is the Perfect Family Dog and is here seeking a home through no fault of his own. He will fit in anywhere, so he will be popular!
Rocky is a friendly, playful, and affectionate boy who fits beautifully into family life. He enjoys cuddles (on his terms!), loves his stuffed toys, and absolutely thrives in the snow. He’s generally quiet, but will let you know when it’s time to go outside or play.
One of Rocky’s best qualities is how amazing he is with kids. He currently lives with children ages 4, 6, and 10, and plays gently and respectfully with them. He’s patient, calm, and loves being part of the family’s daily routine.
Right now, Rocky has a medium energy level and enjoys two 20–30 minute walks a day, plus playtime at home with his foster family and their dog. After spending months confined to a garage, he is regaining his fitness. As he continues to build strength, he may become more energetic and benefit from extra exercise and enrichment.
Rocky is doing great with household manners! He is currently working on: Sitting and waiting for his food instead of rushing in, waiting at doors (front and back) before going outside, and sitting calmly when coming inside so his paws can be wiped. He’s a smart boy who responds well to consistency and positive reinforcement. Rocky is also very well behaved for grooming. Rocky walks beautifully on leash with a martingale collar. He may pull if using a harness, but with the right equipment, he’s a pleasure to walk. Rocky is great in the car, making him an easy travel buddy for family adventures.
While Rocky is an amazing dog, he has a few flaws. He is a counter-surfer, which probably stems from years of neglect. He is house-trained, but he does need frequent bathroom breaks. He also has a chicken allergy, so needs a food without any chicken in it. He is slightly overweight and could use a small diet and more exercise.
If you’re looking for a true family dog who will enjoy backyard playtime, snowy adventures, car rides, and cozy evenings with the kids, Rocky could be the perfect addition to your home. Rocky will be a popular boy, and we expect to recive a lot of applications! Please note that while all will be considered, preference will be given to home with a fenced yard and other dogs for him to play with.
Rocky is neutered and microchipped. He is said to be up to date on all vaccination, however, we are having difficulty obtaining the records from the previous owner. He is ready to go!

Name: Shadow
Breed: Siberian Husky x Alaskan Malamute
Sex: Male
Age: 10 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Selective
Kids: No
Hi there, I’m Shadow and I am about 10 years old. I am seeking an experienced OUTDOOR forever home, so please read carefully. I am said to be a Siberian Husky, but I have a lot of Malamute traits, so, I must be a mix of the two!
As a retired sled dog, I do prefer to be outside as opposed to inside. If I am kept outside, I am virtually no trouble and easy to keep. I have never had a negative experience while at home and outside, however, inside a home environment is an entirely different situation.
I am a very easy boy in a lot of ways, but I do have some strange triggers that make me need someone experienced. Within my foster home that I had for 2 years, I grew immensely. We established an understanding of what I need to avoid these strange triggers. For example, I do not like it when you use your hand to wipe the floor or start to clean. I much prefer to be safe in a closed room while the cleaning is completed. The same applies to brooms, vacuums, lint rollers, etc. I am a guarder, and will even guard entire rooms from other people in the household.
Within a home environment, I do better with a single FEMALE human. For some reason, in both of my failed adoptive placements, I did not like to share space within the home with the male humans. I was amicable with the female humans, however. Multiple within the home stress me out, so I escalate into anxiety-biting, coupled with the resource guarding. I have bitten multiple times as a result, and must be carefully placed.
Outside, however, I am fine. I would be a great fit as an outdoor ‘guard/deterrent’ dog, provided that I still get regular car rides. If you love camping, I would be an excellent companion for your long drive, and will sleep outside the tent on a tether, ensuring you are safe from any wildlife! I could even sleep in the tent with you, but am not a cuddler.
I am house trained and crate trained, but I do paw at the crate door to try and get out as I am not a huge fan, however, I should be crated or outside when there is company visiting so that I cannot guard and protect you from them. I am very much an ‘old-school’ kind of dog. Respect my space and my stuff, don’t coddle me, but spend time with me, and we should do just fine together!
I know that my bio will be somewhat of a trigger to a lot of people reading, but I can assure you, I am a uniquely special boy and not a ‘fur-baby’. I am a good boy in the right environment, and would love someone to give me a solid chance to get to know each other! I was raised as a sled dog until 5 years old, spent 2 years in a foster home with a single female and did great, then have been in a kennel environment again for the last 3 years, aside from 2 recent failed attempts at a home environment.
I am neutered, up to date on my rabies vaccine and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Spencer
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 7 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Selective
Kids: No
Hi there, I’m Spencer and I am about 7 years old. I am seeking an experienced forever home with a fence at least 5ft high, so please read carefully. I need exercise, structure, rules and training, so please be prepared to give me what I need! My forever home must have experience with resource guarding.
I have the most expressive ears! My ears are always moving up and down and begging for you to give me any attention at all! Even just talking to me makes me a happy little boy. I will also lean in for cuddles and snuggles once I know you. It is extremely important to never fully trust me though, even though I am sweet and want your affection. I warm up to new people quickly, but can be stand-offish and/or growl initially if meeting through a fence. I have bitten on a first introduction once, and I need to be with a very understanding and experienced person. I am more oriented towards women, but have accepted a couple men.
I found myself in the shelter due to guarding strange people from entering my previous home, but only from the front door. In the shelter, I showed no guarding issues of this sort and was even fine with meeting dogs through my kennel. However, here in boarding, I have growled and lunged at every human that has approached my kennel. When I am outside of my kennel, I am a lot less reactive, but have snapped/lunged. A meet and greet will be required if I am to live with other dogs. I have a high prey drive for the cat, so no cats please! I cannot be with children! My meet and greet with humans will be muzzled as well.
I did spend 2 months in an apartment and can do it again if I get adequate exercise! I give lots of warning if you know how to read me, but not everyone can. As a result, I have bitten multiple people now. I have been returned twice now for biting
Please be patient and understanding so that I am not returned again! I excite very easily, which is why I have little inhibition to not use my mouth. If I have a bone in my mouth, I will growl and turn away so you cannot take it from me. I love my dinner so much that I bounce up and down until I am served, and will guard it while I am eating. I will sit for a moment before my dinner bowl heads towards the floor, and am working on sitting longer before being fed. I am not good on a tether as I tangle myself a lot, and will bite when you are trying to help me in my panic.
I cannot emphasize enough that I need a special, experienced, and dedicated person to help me through my reactivity and guarding behaviours. Once we have a trust and understanding, I am a great boy! However, it is likely to be a rough go for the first few weeks as we establish routine and boundaries. I am one of the more difficult dogs at the rescue and have been looking for a home for over 5 years now!
I am neutered and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Storm
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 7 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Maybe
Kids: No
Hi there, I’m Storm and I am roughly 7 years old. I am seeking an experienced home that understands that I cannot be physically restrained and also resource guarding behaviour. I am not a cuddly “fur-baby”, and need someone that understands this and we can have mutual respect. I would be great in an outdoor home, as I absolutely love being outside, and am much more relaxed outside than inside, where there is so much stuff to guard and get anxious about!
On a day to day basis, I am a really easy dog. I do not require lots of exercise, and as long as I get my daily walk, I am happy! If it's time for my walk and you forget me, I will make sure you know with my own language that I need to go outside and explore!
I like to play ball and I love tug of war, especially outside in the snow! Be ready; I don't let go!! I am also ok being outside by myself. I like to howl and will be incredibly loud and reactive to a passing cat, squirrel, etc. I am a really smart dog. I do obey basic obedience commands, and have even learned to sit pretty. I will anticipate everything you are going to ask from me for some treats. At first I might be distant, but as soon as I get to know and trust you, I become an affectionate dog. I love belly rubs too.
I have bitten several times as I dislike children and cats, and I am a resource guarder. I will guard entire rooms from visitors to our home, so I am best with a single individual that keeps to themselves. I will bite if I feel you are taking my stuff, or stuff I perceive as mine. I like to hide toys in places like the couch, and if you unknowingly go for it, I will bite. I have also bitten a good samaritan who caught me by my collar when I door dashed out of my previous adoptive home. If you can read dog body language, it is easier to determine when certain handing, like collar grabbing/holding, will become an issue. I am otherwise good for light petting/handling. I am not good for baths/full grooming. My coat is pretty good at shedding out fully on it’s own without intervention.
I tried to see a veterinarian, and I was not having any part of that. I got sent home without being examined because I was anxious, uncomfortable, and acting aggressively. I need to be muzzle trained before I see a veterinarian again. I am absolutely not a fan of restraint of any kind, and am very skeptical of a muzzle coming near my face, especially when you try to do it up! I escalate quickly! Like I said, I am smart! I need more positive associations with the muzzle. Having it hanging on my leash when on walks should help with this. I pull hard on leash, so need more training with this as well. I am a lot better about being leashed now!
I have not been well-socialized with other dogs in the past, and as a result, I would do best without another dog until I am more settled, trained, and we have established a connection.
I am neutered and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Tobi
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male
Age: 8 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Yes
Kids: No
Hey there, I’m the super adorable Tobi! I was born on October 13 2016. I am here seeking a very experienced forever home, so please read carefully. I have been in care for 6.5 years as I have a lot of quirks despite how adorable I am!
When I am out in public with foster mom, I am always wearing my basket muzzle. When I am in my muzzle in public, I love to receive all sorts of affection, belly rubs, and cuddles. I feel secure and safe in my muzzle, however when I am not muzzled, I am know I am not trustworthy and I make poor decisions.
I have a 2-time bite history that required stitches over rough handling and restraint. However, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I am quite an interesting boy and my new person will need to learn my cues and listen to rescue advice on how to best handle me in different situations. I am very hard to read behaviour-wise, and I am a protector. Once I form a bond with my person, that person will never have to fear wrong-doing from anyone so long as I am with my person.
I know my basic obedience commands such as sit, down and come and I enjoy doing obedience with my foster mom. However, I can get a bit too worked up during our training sessions and get into a state where I need to be shut down or redirected before I escalate to a bite.
I am dog-friendly with most dogs, but some dogs just rub me the wrong way. A meet and greet will be required before I can go home with you for many reasons. Maybe even several meet and greets depending on how the first one goes. Any parties interested in me MUST be receptive to advice and be gentle with me as I do NOT respond well to reprimand or raised voices at all!
I have SEVERE resource guarding and my human absolutely MUST have experience with this and know how to safely redirect me to avoid serious issues. Foster mom has had me 6.5 years, and is still very nervous when I guard something randomly. I don’t think I will ever learn that I do not need to guard. It is just something that has to be managed.
I am neutered and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!
