Name: Aurora
Age: 10 years
Breed: Husky mix
Dogs: yes - MANDATORY
Cats: yes
Kids: yes
Sweet Aurora is back in care and is ready to start her search for her palliative forever home — and if you’re looking for the perfect girl, look no further. Poor Aurora was returned through no fault of her own, and has returned a very changed girl from how she was initially adopted. Her severe separation anxiety is GONE! Which makes her so much easier to find a home now! Aurora was originally adopted in 2022 and is one of the “Niagara 17” from the Montrose Rd. Seizure.
This gentle soul is quiet, kind, and wonderful with everyone she meets — dogs, cats (and even kittens!), and kids of all ages. She’s not overly cuddly, but she loves to be near her people and will happily follow you around the house. Once she’s comfortable, she enjoys soft chin scratches and being part of your daily routine — especially if it involves the kitchen! She’s not a counter surfer, but she’ll gladly supervise whatever you’re cooking.
Treats are the key to Aurora’s heart — the sound of a liver treat bag is sure to bring her running with bright eyes and perky ears.
Aurora would thrive in a calm home with another gentle dog, as she takes comfort in canine companionship and loves to curl up with a furry friend.
She’s currently recovering from a severe case of Lyme disease and is slowly but surely regaining her strength, weight, and muscle. Through it all, she’s remained patient, sweet, and full of quiet grace.
Her only challenge aside from lack of appetite, is some occasional bowel incontinence — she never has accidents with pee and always goes outside when given the chance, but sometimes (usually in her sleep) she’ll have a poop accident if she hasn’t had enough outdoor breaks. Her foster family is working closely with the vet to get more answers and support for her at an upcoming follow-up appointment.
Aurora has been through so much and deserves nothing but the best — a loving home, a soft bed, and people who will cherish her for the rest of her days.
Aurora is just absolutely sweet and so so deserving. We know being palliative will dimish her chances of a gentle, peaceful forever placement. She can stay in her foster home, but we would need sponsors to help cover her expenses. $100 a month can make a huge difference! Ask us how to sponsor!

Name: Bailey
Breed: Siberian Husky Mix
Sex: Female
Age: 5.5 Years
Dogs: Yes - selective
Cats: No
Kids: Yes, older
Hello Everyone! My name is Bailey, and I am back through no fault of my own. I was originally adopted in 2022, and am now roughly 5.5 years old. I am here seeking a moderately active forever home. I have even lived in an apartment, so I can live in any type of home as well! I do get a bit vocal and join into serenades, but it isn’t over the top. As long as other tenants don’t mind a bit of noise on a rare occasion, then attached housing is fine!
I am a very friendly girl that absolutely loves to get attention and give kisses! I do like to jump up and “punch” with my front paws, so a home with older children that are more stable on their feet is best. I was living with a cat in my previous adoptive home, however, I was briefly in a foster home with cats and that did not go well. It does appear that I want to harm them, so I would be best as only princess in the home!
Despite living in an apartment, it appears I am not house trained. It shouldn’t take much to train me, though, once I am settled in and comfortable with yard access or lots of walks. I am crate trained, but am also not destructive left alone in the house. I am a climber, and a 5ft fence is nothing to me. I need minimally a 6ft fence and supervision, or a home that will use a tether or strictly leash walks. I am a door barger as well.
I would do very well as a single pet due to my dominance and resource guarding. If I am adopted with Mika, then you would be able to have 2 pets in the home as opposed to me as a single princess. It took our adopter a lot of work to get us to live together. We would be totally fine going to separate homes as well! I can also get jealous when I have to share attention and affection, so that causes altercations with other dogs as well. I very much want all of the available attention in any form, but particularly with head, butt, and belly scratches!
My resource guarding is mainly with other dogs, and I do not have any bite history with humans. I do get into altercations with other dogs even when food is not involved, but food is definitely the main issue. As I did learn to live with Mika, with the right companion and the right human, I might be able to co-habit with another dog. I do like to peruse the edible things on the counter, but will respond when told not to take my findings. I am a bit taller, so I can’t help it.
I am spayed and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Daisy
Breed: Alaskan Husky Mix
Sex: Female
Age: 6 years old
Cats: No
Dogs :No
Kids: Yes,older -see description
Hi there! I'm Daisy and I am here seeking another forever home through no fault of my own. My adoptive momma has run into some serious health issues that make her unable to care for me in the same capacity. I am in urgent need of a new placement. I am just a tiny little girl aroun 15kg, so I can fit in just about any type of dwelling.
My current home has kids. My buddies are 11 &12 yrs old, 23 & 25yrs old and they are
awesome. I love them so much. The boys give a great throw for fetch, which is my favorite thing to
do, and I bring it right back for more and more and more. The girls however steal my heart with lots of pets and scratches and snuggles. They even let me sleep with them sometimes!!! But, I am also comfortable curling up on my bed for sweet dreams. I do have a bite history, please don't fear or judge me. My family has a GIANT puppy and she scares me. No joke, she's giant! They tell me she is very sweet but I'm ok being separate from her. She's a lot of puppy! So, my bite... well it was day 2 or 3 of my new home and I was still really stressed from the shelter I came from. My 12yr old buddy and l just went for a walk, and once inside, he bent to unclip the leash just as the giant puppy barked and it really scared me and I reacted, and I bit my buddy .I didn't mean to, and I’ve never done it again. My buddy though, he's a cool kid, he understood what happened and forgave me, and still really loves me! My Mom did a great job explaining why I did that and we were more cautious until l settled in and de-stressed.
I am very respectful of my humans home, and I'm very quiet when no one is home. I'm a pretty quiet gal unless you want to share stories with me, then I can be chatty or if you separate me from everyone; it makes me sad because l just want to be with and around everyone. That makes me very happy!
I am fully trained to use the outside bathroom, but I have been known to mark if there is another dog in the home. I am also very dominant so it is best to have a home with no other dogs. I don't like to share my humans attention, I would like you all to myself. I have never been cat tested, but I have a very high prey drive with squirrels and bunnies outside so it wouldn't be a good idea to have me with cats or small animals. I did eventually learn to co-habit with the giant puppy, so I could, potentially, in time, accept another dog into the home if that is something that is desired and my new person is experienced with integration.
I know my basic commands; sit, stay, lay down and come. I love to perform for treats and would love to learn some tricks! I'm such a smart girl! l love going for walks with my humans and I'm working on better leash manners. My sniffer tends to get the best of me and I pull for a bit, but once I'm satisfied ,I relax to a nice walk beside my human. The neighbourhood kids love me! They always come and ask to pet me, they let me sniff their hand and when I give the ok, I soak up all the lovin'!! I'm still very uncertain of other dogs, I can be reactive; barking or lunging or even cowering. So it's best to keep them away from me or allow for a very calm, slow approach.
I would prefer a home with a fully fenced yard to run free, but I'm ok with a lead and tie out, as that's what I have at my home. It's ok, because we go for lots of walks to release my energy! I am a typical husky, so even though I come when my name is called, I wouldn't trust me off-leash and uncontained. You never know what that sniffer will pick up !I have not shown any resource guarding either, and I love to share my toys so you can throw them for me to fetch. Tug of War is nice but not my favorite. My Mom puts carrots and apples in with my kibble while l eat, and I'm ok with her hand in my food.
What else can I say? I'm very sweet, very happy, love attention and affection and curling up beside you on the couch. I love your smell, so I may rub my head on you. There's that sniffer again! Oh, and I don't like the vacuum .How could I forget!! It's a monster that makes me run away from it, it's loud and I swear it wants to eat me ,it makes things go missing!
l am spayed and microchipped.I am ready to go home immediately!

Name: Kiska
Breed: Husky x Malamute
Sex: Female
Age: 11years old
Cats: No
Dogs: No
Kids: No
Well, hello! My name is Kiska, and I am a gorgeous Husky Malamute mix. I was born on March 11, 2015. I am here seeking an experienced, quiet home for my golden years. Please read thoroughly, and consider giving me a chance!
I am an absolute sweetheart and dote on my chosen person! Once I form a bond with you, I love you dearly and will come to you for reassurance when things get scary. I am, however, visually impaired, and as such, I do not greet humans well at first. I can be downright scary upon first greeting. But, if you respect my space, I will come around to you. Upon first greeting, it can just be a low growl, or it can be a full out teeth out lunge. I promise though, I am not mean by nature. I am just scared as I cannot see that well. Foster mom will help you and I get along, but you’ll need to be willing to travel to me several times to help us get used to each other in my environment.
I did live in a home with a toddler before my surrender 4 years ago, and unfortunately, I bit the child several times as children cannot respect or understand warning signs, and are too high energy for my preferences. I like a low-key environment, and love to be indoors. I would be great for a single person or quiet home-body couple! I am house and crate trained. I like to go on walks and do very well on a training collar, but I pull without it. I am muzzled for walks due to my visual impairment and insecurities, for everyone’s safety. I will return to your side on command when in a crowd, as I know where you are.
I am not a fan of other dogs or cats and need to be the only pampered princess in my home. I can interact with some other dogs on walks since I am muzzled, but I would not trust my interactions not muzzled as I previously lived with 2 other dogs for a couple of months and it didn’t go well. I do very well at adoption events though, because I go with foster mom. I have even been handed off at events for walks with strangers and done pretty well overall!
I am a huge foodie and dive into my dinner and like my treats. I do have resource guarding, so it is best to respect my space for the 30 seconds that I am eating, and whenever I have a high-value item. I can usually be redirected off of something, but it needs to be even more smelly and valuable than what I have.
If you are a patient, understanding, and experienced person that is willing to give me a chance through my initial hurdles and maintain a quiet, calm environment for my golden years, you will NOT regret adopting me - I promise! I am absolutely lovely and loving once I know and trust you! Foster mom cannot say it enough that I have been very misunderstood and overlooked for the last 4 years, and it makes her very sad that no one is willing to give me a chance! I am willing to give you a chance!
I am microchipped. I am not spayed, and will be adopted on a strict non-breeding contract given my age.

Name: Lady
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Female
Age: 7.5 years
Cats: No
Dogs: Yes
Kids: No
Hey everyone, I’m Lady and I’m an approximately 7.5 year old female looking for my forever home. I am seeking a very experienced, hands-off home that can take the time needed to train me to be the best girl I know I can be with time. My forever home must not have children as I have a bite history and many handling sensitivities that I will go over below. I have not had one single application, and am the ‘forgotten dog’ from the ‘Niagara 17’ Montrose Rd. Seizure.
Due to the situation I was in, I am a fearful girl and startle at every noise or motion. I do also bite in fear, particularly when I am approached, cornered or restrained. I am not a fan at all of having any petting performed, so my forever home must be very understanding and willing to work with me on this long-term, or at least manage me as safely as possible. I cannot stress enough that I will, and have, bitten and cannot be with children. I am not house trained, so will need more work in this area as well. I have not been crated, however I would likely love a plastic crate I can run into and hide away from people.
Due to having almost no human contact, introductions to new people will take time and patience. I am still very timid and skittish when greeting people and can still be that way with my foster mom. I will need someone patient and able to work with me to get me to come out of my shell. I do warm up to my fosters in time, but will need more socialization with strangers once settled in. I don’t exhibit any food aggression or resource guarding with humans or dogs, and I love other dogs! Please, no cats. Other dogs help to draw me closer to you, so I really would be best in a home with other dogs to help you work with me.
I was raised in a kennel environment and I need to be taught basic obedience manners and leash walking skills since I was not walked. I am still fearful of humans and tend to run when they want me to do things I don’t want to do, and I will back up on the leash when I want to protest moving forward. These things are all so foreign to me! It is absolutely imperative that I be kept on my leash both inside and outside the home for at least a month, maybe even longer until I am settled in and comfortable as I am a flight risk and a bite risk. I have chewed through a fence here in foster in my state of fear and panic, so I need somewhere very secure, experienced, and patient.
I am spayed and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Breed: Siberian Husky Mix
Sex: Female
Age: 6.5 Years
Dogs: Yes
Cats: Maybe - see description
Kids: No
Hello Everyone! My name is Mika, and I am back through no fault of my own. I was originally adopted in 2021, and am now roughly 6.5 years old. I am not overly energetic, so can fit into any activity level experienced home. I have even lived in an apartment, so I can live in any type of home as well!
I am a calm and passive girl, however, I do have an extensive bite history in the past. I went through several homes before I was surrendered to the shelter, and bit in each one of these homes. Most of my bites stem around restraint/rough handling; especially around my neck. I have grumbled at my foster mom over leashing/unleashing, but have not bitten her as of yet in the last year! While I have gotten a lot better about it, the risk is still there, so I need someone experienced please!
I get along great with other dogs and am very submissive with them. If someone tries to take my food, I will pretty much just walk away. This is not ideal as I need to gain a bit of weight, and my sister, Bailey, is very dominant and takes my dinner from me. I do enjoy being with her, just not at meal times. I would be totally fine being in a home without her!
I was living with a cat in my previous adoptive home, however, I am favoring chasing the cats in my current foster home. It doesn’t appear that I want to harm them, so I might be able to live with a cat as long as there is constant supervision or separation. Please, absolutely no children due to my extensive bite history.
Despite living in an apartment, it appears I am not house trained. It shouldn’t take much to train me, though, once I am settled in and comfortable with yard access or lots of walks. I am not crate trained, but am not destructive left alone in the house. I have no escape desire through or over a fence, either, which is a big bonus. I would take the opportunity through an open door, though.
I would do very well as a single pet if so desired. A submissive dog without resource guarding would also be a good placement for me as well. If I am adopted with Bailey, then we need to be the only 2 pets in the home as Bailey is too dominant with other dogs to live amicably. It took our adopter a lot of work to get us to live together.
I am spayed and microchipped. I am ready to go home with you!

Name: Nova
Breed: German Shepherd × Husky mix
Sex: Female
Age: 3 years
Dogs: Yes – best with a playful, non-dominant dog
Cats: No
Kids: Yes – 8+
Nova is a stunning, affectionate, high-energy German Shepherd–Husky mix with a huge heart and a deep love for her people. Nova was born October 10, 2022. She thrives on human connection and is happiest when she’s physically close — sleeping belly-up, draping her legs over you, and soaking up cuddles once her exercise needs are met. She absolutely adores people and instantly trusts genuine dog lovers. Nova is very social, offers her belly freely, and loves being part of her humans’ daily routine.
Nova is intelligent, eager, and highly food motivated, making her fun and rewarding to train. She knows her name and several basic commands, including sit and give paw, and responds well to positive, reward-based training. She is crate trained and comfortable being crated for 6–8 hours when needed during the day and sleeps perfectly all night long up to 10 hours without making a peep. She is also fully house trained with excellent bladder control. She is accustomed to regular grooming (weekly baths and nail trims). As a result, she is calm and cooperative for paw wiping — she will lie down and wait. She also is not destructive when properly exercised, and is a big fan of food puzzles, treat balls, and mental enrichment. Nova enjoys using her mouth during play and can be gentle, though she can be possessive of toys, especially around other dogs. Supervised play and structure are important.
Nova is a very high-energy dog who needs significantly more than standard walks to thrive. A typical day includes a long morning walk, a food puzzle mid-morning food puzzle or treat ball, a midday walk, and a nighttime walk. When her needs are met, Nova is happy to lounge, cuddle, and nap. When under-stimulated, she will politely ask for engagement — often by nudging a ball into your neck to initiate play. Even with approximately three hours of walking per day, Nova still struggles to get enough stimulation in a suburban environment.
With humans, Nova is affectionate, trusting, and people-oriented. She has no bite history with humans. With dogs, Nova loves to play with other dogs off-leash. However, when on leash, she can become highly overstimulated, reactive and difficult to control. Nova is best suited with playful, submissive companions. She benefits from structured introductions and supervision. A meet and greet will be required prior to adoption. Nova has a strong prey drive and will chase cats, squirrels, and rabbits. A cat-free home is mandatory.
Nova struggles with impulse control once she locks onto the scent or sight of another animal. When this happens, breaking her focus can be extremely difficult, particularly while on leash. Because of this, Nova needs a very large, securely fenced yard or acreage along with significant daily outdoor time. Ideally, another compatible dog for play and companionship and humans experienced with high-drive breeds who can provide structure and enrichment. No cats or small animals at all. Nova would thrive in a home where someone spends a lot of time outdoors or works outside, allowing her to be active, included, and engaged throughout the day.
This decision has been incredibly difficult. Nova is deeply loved, well cared for, and very comfortable in her current home. However, despite our best efforts, we recognize that suburban living does not provide the space, stimulation, and freedom Nova needs to truly thrive. Their goal is to avoid the stress of shelter placement and carefully find Nova a home that is the right long-term match for her needs and energy level.
Nova is spayed, up to date on all of her vaccinations and microchipped. She is ready to go home immediately! Applications are scrrened and chosen by her owner with our assistance. Her owner chooses her placement, so please be patient during the adoption process.

Name: Snookie
Age: 6 years
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Gender: Female
Dogs: yes
Cats: Yes
Kids: Yes
May I be your shadow? I promise to never leave your side when you're at home, and I will never allow you to eat…or cook alone again. However, if you need to work or run errands, I am very content to take a treat into my kennel and nap while you are away. If I am left out while alone, I tend to get into some form of trouble, even when you think there is nothing to get into.
I currently am cared for by my Foster Lady, a teenage girl and 2 younger female dogs (both crazy AF). My lady describes me as the most non-confrontational Husky EVER! That I simply love and appreciate everyone! From new friendly faces coming to visit, to pettings from strangers we meet on our walks, to neighbour dogs meeting at the fence for sniffs, etc. I have been praised for not arguing with the other dogs over kibble in our food bowls, and that I gladly wait for my turn for treats (I know my 3 basic commands very well; sit, paw, lay down; and my foster lady makes me do them all in order to get anything yummy). Sharing toys is what I prefer, but I do need the strong durable type, as I tend to destroy the softer fluffy versions (and if it has a squeaker, it won’t for long).
I am the sweetest girl and full of love, cuddles, wiggles, and everything an amazing dog has to offer! I do great on a tether, and enjoy multiple short walks a day. Sometimes I need to be reminded to ‘slow’ down on our walks, or when going too fast down the stairs, as I am an epileptic and tend to over-excite myself and become wobbly. I would love a semi-relaxed/quiet home. I am house trained and crate trained. I can fit in just about anywhere, but preference will be given to homes with epilepsy experience and other animals to keep me company.
Unfortunately, I am epileptic and on medicine every 12 hours. It is managed well with this regime so far, which is good. However, I should live in close proximity to an ER vet as my seizures can be longer than ideal and need intervention to be stopped. Granted, my ER stay when I first entered care was due to a lack of meds since my previous owner did not disclose my condition, nor provide and meds, and did not get partial vet records until AFTER I was in the hospital.
I will be adopted on a strict non-breeding contract as I cannot safely be spayed at this time due to my epilepsy. I am microchipped. I am said to be up to date on my vaccinations, but the records have not been received. Regardless, because of my epilepsy, I should not receive any vaccinations or flea/tick/heartworm and should be kept as chemical-free as possible to help keep my epilepsy stable and not make it worse. My adoption fee has been reduced as I am a medical case, even though I am a phenomenal dog!

Name: Xena
Breed: Siberian Husky
Sex: Female
Age: 6 years
Dogs: Yes
Cats: Not tested
Kids: Yes
Meet Xena, the lap-loving husky who totally missed the memo about being high-energy! This sweet girl is calm, cuddly, and all about her humans. If she could glue herself to your side, she absolutely would.
Her medium energy makes her the perfect balance of playful and easygoing. She is happy to join you for a nice walk, but just as content curled up in your lap, soaking in all the cuddles she can get.
Xena is incredibly people-oriented and loves being near her favourite humans. She gives the sweetest wet kisses, leans in for affection, and settles in close whenever she can. This sweet girl also does wonderfully with other dogs. Xena isn’t big on active play, but she loves the comfort of having a canine companion around. It gives her a sense of security and helps her settle confidently.
Xena has excellent leash manners and truly enjoys her walks. She’s crate trained as well, though it’s not her favourite place, she tolerates it like a champ. She’s wonderfully well-behaved indoors, making her a great fit for both houses and apartments. When let out into the backyard, she’ll finish her business and come right back in within minutes because being inside with her humans is exactly where she wants to be. Xena does not have accidents indoors.
Xena does best in a calm, gentle environment. She may startle a bit with sudden movements or loud noises, but she recovers quickly and it never holds her back from bonding. She warms up to people beautifully and has a soft, trusting heart that shines through more each day.
If you’re looking for a sweet, soft-natured companion who will stay close, love deeply, and bring a peaceful charm into your home, Xena is your girl. Xena is good with kids of all ages and dogs. She is not cat tested, but given her breed, it is best to not be with cats.
Xena is spayed up to date on her dhpp vaccination and microchipped. She is ready to go home with you immediately!
